Summary: You will read this over and over and over.....
Review: This book is guaranteed to be a favorite of your young child. My 3 year old son has read it about a million times, but he still loves it. The gentle rhythm of the words, the clear, easy to understand illustrations, and the simple story make this a great book for snuggling.

Summary: It's sopo-RIFFIC!
Review: This book works on so many levels. It's a simple board book for even the youngest readers, but its soothing messages about farm life will resonate well into the 2's and 3's, and maybe even into the early-reading years. We came back to this book again and again when my kids were little and it's still on the shelf... and I keep thinking, "maybe someday, I'll be lucky enough to have a little one to read it to again."

Summary: Big Red Barn
Review: This is a great book to introduce farm animals to the children. There is no humor in it but it will still able to draw the children's attention with its detailed illustrations and beautiful colors. The book allows you and your child to imagine the everyday lives of the animals that live in that Big Red Barn. The ending was done in a way that would make your child feels that he or she needs to go to bed as well. I love reading it to my child as she also loves to hear the story.

Summary: A cosy read
Review: This is a sweet, gentle book that my two year old really enjoys. It's especially suitable as a bedtime book, describing as it does a day in the life of the farm animals and ending as they curl up in the barn to sleep. My only criticism is that I find it hard to settle into a rhythm when I read it. The cadence is uneven and the rhymes don't always work. I find I often end up skipping lines here and there to make it work better as a book to read aloud.

Summary: Big Red Barn - A Classic

Summary: Wonderful story for children and adults alike
Review: This is one of Margaret Wise Browns best books, Children of any age will love it. The text flows beautifully without being too silly and the illustrations are great for children learning their animals. We've had this book since my son was ten months old and it is still one of his most favorite books, and even after reading this a million times it is still one of my most favorite childrens stories. How did I miss this one as a child?

Summary: A Most Read, Must-Have Book
Review: This is one story that both my children adore. They each have their own set of favorites, but this is one story that gets read to both of them each night before going to bed. It's a delightful tale with adorable illustrations.
