Summary: Another one by Margaret Wise Brown
Review: "Big Red Barn" is my son's, who is a year and a half, new favorite book.
He adored "good night, moon" which has gone amissing in our house. i didn't even know about this book, and my husband picked it up last week at the bookstore.
After reading and looking at "The Runaway Bunny", I was a little weary of Brown's books aside from "Goodnight, Moon", but this book has made me a fan once again. The illustration here is very good. It's simple and easy on the eyes of our little ones.
I love the way her books are written. She has the certain "beat" to the way the story is told. It's like reading a poem.
It is certainly a great last read of the day to help ease baby's eyes to a sleepy state.
My son loves animals, and recently has been to a farm, so this makes his love for this little story all the more enchanting.
This is good for children who love animals, and it helps them get to know those farm animals even more.
It's one of those books you have to read everyday to your child once you start reading it to them. Brown had the right prescription to help put little ones to sleep...
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz(night night little one)

For children just starting to read, this is a perfect book to help them on their journey to be excellent readers.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR ALL PARENTS OF TODDLERS AND OLDER CHILDREN!

Summary: My favorite children's book
Review: Afriend sent me this book as a baby gift. The story is told like a rhythmic poem - I find myself reading it to my son very softly. He loved this book from infancy. And my 2 year old loves it too. The illustrations are beautiful, charming but not babyish. My mother read me every Dr. Suess book there was when I was a child, but I had never heard of this book. It is a gem that I never get tired of reading to my kids.

Summary: Toddlers Love It!
Review: As a teacher of infants and toddlers, I must say this book is THE BEST! It is one of the few books an entire classroom of toddlers will sit down and listen to all the way through. My kids request this book nearly every day ("Barn book! Barn book!"). I love reading it to my own children (ages 3 months, 2 years, and 5 years) as well. Starts out bright and cheerful and winds down to quiet and calm...great for bedtime!

Review: From the author of Goodnite Moon, the Big Red Barn is a terrific book for babies through preschoolers. It is a wonderful story of donkeys and cows and geese and goats living in a Big Red Barn. Creative rhymes and pleasant illustrations make this a favorite choice of my toddler.

Summary: Just Wonderful
Review: Goodnight Moon gets all the hype, but I like Big Red Barn even better. This is a simple story about all the animals who live on a farm and the things they do during the day. No humans are anywhere to be found in this tale. The illustrations are simple and sweet. My 8 month old daughter just loves this book! It's very soothing for bedtime, especially because at the end of the story, all the animals go to sleep in the barn. Wonderful!

Summary: One of my favorites
Review: I don't mind reading this book again and again and again because it's one of my favorites. Margaret Wise Brown is one of my favorite authors for children.

The story is gentle and soft and sweet. The illustrations are charming. The rythm that the words set is rolling and easy. This is an easy book to read over and over agin.

This is a great bedtime story in my opinion. However, my son also enjoys reading it and making animal sounds.

Enjoy.

Summary: Great book full of animals
Review: I purchased this book for my new, and first, baby. As an eager mother to be wishing to encourage books right from the start, I bought all the "popular" titles, as well as trying this book and several others. I have found that this is the favorite book of my daughter who loves to look at the barn animals hear all the animals sounds that go with it - it is a great choice!

Also loved "The Mitten"!

Summary: Wonderful Bedtime Story! Beautiful Book!
Review: I think Margaret Wise Brown ("Goodnight Moon") was a very talented children's story writer. She had a simple way with words that delights both children and their parents. Her smooth rhyming verses teach your child about the on-goings of a country farm. Margaret Wise Brown's use of the prose is so much fun, you'll find it fun to reread this book many times. Felicia Bond did a beautiful job illustrating.
