Rating: Summary: A masterpiece that will keep you and all intrigues always Review: This book is my all time favourite , a book which I had picked up and put down several times in the past. My mother read it to me , I read it to my children and even for myself. Saint Exupery's classic tale can be read on many levels and enjoyed by readers of any age. He tells the story of being stranded in the desert and meeting a tiny blond boy. This Little Prince proceeds to tell of his travels from planet to planet until he arrived on Earth and of what he has learned along the way. The most important thing he reveals is a secret that was taught him by a fox that he tamed. I saw what has kept this fable popular for so many years. I liked the characters and the "lessons." I was especially fond of the tippler and the businessman, and the poignant description of "taming." And, of course, there is the oft-quoted, "It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye." Toward the end I began to feel that I was reading the New Testament but that is perhaps what will keep the fable in my consciousness: that and the marvelous pictures which I still find the best part of the book!
Rating: Summary: Le Petit Prince, a interesting, teaching book Review: This book teachs many things about life. On every plant that Le Petit Prince lands on the book teachs us something new. It teachs us about many different personalities people can have. It's also a very interesting book. It's not a book that I got hooked on, but it's diffenatly a good story. It's interesting how the author, Antoine-Marie-Roger de Saint-Exupery, has himself as a character in the book and how is playing himself, as a piolt, just as he is.
Rating: Summary: great in its original language Review: This books is simply one of the most wonderful stories ever written. On its face it may be a children's book, but there is a strong message for adults regarding what is important in life and keeping one's priorities straight. In terms of writing quality, the French version is on a whole other level relative to the English version. Even if you only speak a little French, being able to read this book is the perfect reason to learn more. Je suis certain que vous aimerez ce livre. Bonne chance.

Rating: Summary: Amazingly deep children's book, with plenty for adults Review: This is a book that everyone should read, like a sort of emotional vaccination in childhood. In simple language, in a simple story, it delves into how we should relate to each other, and how we should live our lives. Only great writers can convey this in such an uncomplicated way. There is something in this book that will speak to everyone.
Rating: Summary: Un histoire pour tout le monde Review: This is a wonderful story, with many levels, that can be enjoyed by anyone who is willing to take the time to read it, let it sink in, and think about what it says. Interesting insights into life and relationships. Like a lot of other reviewers here, I first read the French version as part of a French class, but I've re-read it several times since then, both the French and English versions. If you read French, I recommend the French version. If you don't read French, check out the English version. It always leaves me smiling. "Voici mon secret. Il est très simple: on ne voit bien qu'avec le coeur. L'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux."
Rating: Summary: A well-written story. Review: This is indeed a well-written story with deeper meanings running behind what seems to be a quixotic journey through a somewhat Lewis Caroll universe - but it didn't really speak to me. It started off rather well and sloped downwards from there. Supposèdly those who read the book will get a better perspective on life, people, and reality; however, one can garnish much more from a reading of the Vedic classic, "the Bhagavad Gita", or the Daoist classic, "the Daodejing". "Le Petit Prince" isn't for everyone, but it's definitely worth giving a try.
Rating: Summary: Each word of this book smells life and its principles! Review: Tired about the speed at which our world goes? No stress, just buy this book and read it softly. I read the book. Learnt all things said in it. used em as principles. quickly changed my views about it the third or the fourth time I read it. First, I thought it was only a fairy tale with a lot of magic and the regular "They lived happily ever after". Then, I concentrated much more on the stuff the people said. I was just amazed! I never get tired of reading it. To be able to enjoy it fully, you'll have while reading to have the same mentality as yours when you were a young person. You must see the elephant eaten by the snake, not the hat. Just let the book mate you, like the fox would do. If I may make a comment in French, my native language : Ce livre est d'une telle richesse, qu'on dirait qu'il émane son histoire à travers les pages.
Rating: Summary: the bad beginning....or the whole book Review: When the book started it was some little kid that calls himself "The Little Price" and it's of some planet that's really small. On this planet he has a few things...includiing three volcanoes(one non-active) and a flower. This psycho little kid talks to the flower. Wow. How thrilling...I was being sarcastic! Then, he get's bored of the flower that supposedly "talks Back," and goes out to seek other people....finally. He meets these self-absorbed grown-ups, and decides that they are too greedy and wants to kill himself because he doesn't want to grow up to be like them. So....he does! Yay!
