Summary: An excellent book-in French or English!
Review: "Le Petit Prince" or "The Little Prince" as it is more commonly known in the United States, is an exciting adventure story for all ages! I highly recommend it!

Summary: A fabulous book that teaches the most important thing of all
Review: 'Le petit prince' is a fabulous book that talks about a little prince that loves his planet and takes the advice of his flower which seems to him the most beautiful rose. But a fox that he meets teaches him the most important secret of all life: and that is that you see the real things with your heart and not your eyes, that your eyes only hide the true beauty of being alive. Just by looking at a person you can't tell who they are. You have to become friends and look with your heart to see what is really in front of you and what you are missing. The world would be a better place if people looked with their hearts and not their eyes; and by reading the little prince's story, 'Le petit prince' will you come to know this. It is a touching story that taught me a lot about this world. Read it.

Summary: A book about a nutcase who hallucinates about another nut
Review: ...This Book is about a nutcase who draws snakes with elephants inside and becomes a pilot because the " grandes personnes " wanted him to stop drawing nonsense and become something useful. Anyhow, he crashes and hallucinates about this stupid little kid who calls himself "le Petit Prince" who lives all alone on a planet the size of a table. One day, a talking flower comes along and makes him depressed so he somehow magically goes to see other planets and ends up on earth where he meets a talking fox and Antoine de Saint-Exupere. He then regrets leaving his planet and tells a talking snake to kill him so he can " return to his planet". So now, after reading my review you see what a waste of valuable time this book is.

Summary: Imaginative and Fun
Review: An imaginative and humorous children's book, seemingly written for adults. The French is simple, modern, and clear. The vivid story and cute illustratins bid the reader to think and dream like a child. It's so well written and conceived, it has become a modern classic in French literature and is a must have!

Summary: Le Petit Prince: enchanting and unforgettable
Review: Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's 'Le petit prince' is one of the characters that I hold very dear. The wistful, dreamy conservations and eventual journey of the little prince and his friend the gentle pilot reflect upon human foibles and idiocy, and also provide a mirror to the reader. Thus presenting a timeless philosophy in a very accessible and direct way. With the little prince Antoine de Saint-Exupéry created one of the most enchanting characters, ever to make its appearance in fiction. The innocence, sweetness and kindness of the little prince will appeal to many readers. The reader shouldn't be fazed by the age indication, this book is for all ages. Lovely and simple illustrations accompany this story. If you know French, then read this original edition and savour it in all its glory. This beautiful, wistful story which is as well a great tale of friendship and love between the little prince and the pilot.

A treasure on my bookshelves!

Summary: My favourite: short, simple and so rich !
Review: As every French speaking child, I read it when I was at school. I re-discovered it when I was 18. I'm now 28 and it is still my favourite. You will find no theory, no big philosophy in this book, but "a piece of life" as another reader said.

I also liked L'Alchimiste, but L'Alchimiste is for me just one book among the others. Le Petit Prince is something else: shorter, simpler, richer !

Read it and you will see that life, every little piece of it, is a wonder. And that relationships are what matters. And simple things. And...

Summary: A true friend, this book is
Review: How true to life Le Petit Prince is! We read it in class, and I must say it is the most wonderful book I've ever read as part of any curriculum, one of the very few which haven't exasperated me to death.

It really is such a joy to read it in its original, French version--the English translations we looked at got a bit clunky, language-wise, at times--there really is no substitute for reading the exact words Saint-Exupery put down.

Read it! Be enlightened about "le drame de baobabs," les grandes personnes, and all this lovely stuff...

Summary: Le Petit Prince
Review: I also read Le Petit Prince in my classe de francais, and I truely enjoyed it. It was exciting for me to read a book in a foreign language.
