Summary: Just wonderful
Review: I'm a sunday school teacher, and like really different crafts to keep the kids attention, we don't do a whole lot of coloring in my class :). I found this book, and thought there might be an idea, or a recipe I could use in it. This book has ended up being one of my most used resources for crafts in my class. The instructions are clear, the pictures are even cute, and all the materials you have in your pantry, pretty much.

The kids love the gooey or creative crafts, and I love the ease of directions! I've used probably 3/4 of the projects with maybe one flop which was probably my fault anyway :). Use this book to play with your kids, they will love it!

Summary: The Ultimate Book of Kid Concoctions
Review: I'm curious - why was this book $12.00 yesterday when I looked it up and today it's $14.95. I saw it on the Discovery Channel's "Home Matters". Did you eliminate the discount because of demand as a result of the show?

Summary: A Parents' Dream Come True!
Review: If you like Thomas and Pagel's wacky kids' crafts on TV, then you'll love "The Ultimate Book Of Kid Concoctions". This collection of over 65 innovative projects will educate and entertain the kids while they learn to make "knock-offs" of popular toy store items. Parents' will enjoy the book because most projects require zero artistic ability and nothing more than common household items. With out a doubt "The Ultimate Book Of Kid Concoctions" sets a new standard for children's craft and activity books. I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes a classic.

Summary: Water Balloons and Finger Paints
Review: If you remember throwing water balloons or painting with finger paints, then you will enjoy teaching your children how to make some of these creative projects. You might also want to host a "craft party."

You can actually duplicate popular toy store concoctions with your own household ingredients. With more than 65 concoction recipes, children will have plenty to do. They do suggest parental supervision! With recipes like, "Fantasy Fossils" and "Sand Castle Clay," I agree.

Some of my favorite memories had direct connections to art projects. Children enjoy creating quality projects they can be proud of. More than anything, this book will give your children a desire to explore, create, learn and experiment with many different kitchen ingredients.

What a great way to introduce a child to cooking. Many of the ingredients include: Flour, salt, gelatin, vinegar, food coloring, coffee, oil, oatmeal, lemon juice, peanut butter, cornstarch and eggs. Kids can even eat some of the things they make.

The rest of the concoctions contain simple ingredients you already have on hand, or a quick trip to the local craft store will do the trick. A large table, old T-shirt's and a big washable table cloth are my recommendations! Then have some fun and spend some quality time with your favorite kids. My nieces are going to love this book!

Summary: I'm not too sure about "Ultimate"
Review: My 8 year old son and I bought this book after seeing the wonderful projects on T.V. I thought it would be a great way to keep him busy and allow us to make things together. Although the book claims that the items used in the projects are found right in your home, I always found myself having to go out and buy the ingredients. Out of the ten or so projects we have done so far, only 2 have turned out right. I must say, even after following the directions to a precise T, the results have been a big disappointment.

Summary: GREAT for Teachers/Parents/Grandparents
Review: My daughter is a first grade teacher. I purchased this book for her as a gift because she thinks teaching should be activity oriented. She has enjoyed the book very much. Even my 15 year old son has used some of the experiments in the book to share his faith in Christ with friends. I highly recommend the book for elementary educators or for parents/grandparents that just like to have fun with their kids.

Summary: A plethora of exciting childrens crafts.
Review: My first experiences with this book were those of excitement to try at home. My friends and I fight over the book just admiring the 60+ creative concoctions. The only thing better than experimenting with this inventive index of household creations was meeting its creators and seeing "gooey gunk","treasure stones","sparkle bottles"and "splongee balls"up close.

Summary: Fun for ALL ages!
Review: My son is only 4 years old, but there isn't anything in the book that we could not make together, AND what's more have fun playing with together. Our favorites so far are the funny putty, the gooey gunk, and the texture filled balloons. I would not go so far as to say that the items required by the recipes are everyday household items though. However, I did not mind sprucing up my pantry and craft closet to have a special stash just for these fun recipes. It would be interesting to have an explanation as to why some of these chemistry reactions occur, also any pertinant warnings to prevent accidental spills or carpet mishaps.

Summary: Innovative & Fun
Review: One of the most innovative, fun and intelligent book I have seen in several years. Kids can learn and have fun at the same time. The projects seem to be almost fool proof and they are made from inexpensive household items. My family and I look forward to book #2!
