Summary: I LOVE THIS BOOK!
Review: Harold and the Purple Crayon is a wonderful book. I work at a daycare and if I ask my children if they want me to read them a book they ALWAYS ask for Harold. We've read it so many times now that I can stop in the middle of a sentence and my children can finish for me. If you are thinking of buying any of the Harold books you must do it. You and your child will be missing out if you don't.

Summary: Harold applies educational theory
Review: I recently used this book as a review selection for a master's course in education. My premise was that: "Harold and the Purple Crayon speaks to the most basic principles of effective learning in the most basic means: to be a critical thinking problem solver, one must think in broad and adventerous terms, reason clearly and carefully, and be ever-inquisitive. Most importantly, one must be a risk-taker for without ambitious risk in the realm of learning the true wealth of knowledge remains beyond grasp."

Great book for a teacher who's forgotten why he teaches.

Summary: Classic story that still hold up after almost 45 years
Review: Charming story about a young boy who uses a simple purple crayon to create an imaginary world.

My 5 year old daughter loves it, and the simply drawn pictures allow the reader to also use his imagination.

A classic!

Review: This was probably my all-time favourite book as a child. I think I ended up being so inspired by it that I added to Harold's drawings myself. :) This is definitely a book that should be given to all children. It is a pure delight!

Review: I'm five again!!! There are only two books that stand out in my memory as a very young child, and they are; "Harold and the Purple Crayon", and "The Velveteen Rabbit"! Harold is really YOU in a black and white world, and you're on an amazing adventure! Love this book, and have added it to my children's library.
