Review: My son will sit and listen to any book, but this is the first one I remember him asking me to read over and over again. The first time we read it, we laughed as Harold made an all pie picnic. Great book!

Summary: The World At The Tip Of A Purple Crayon
Review: Harold And The Purple Crayon is a great book for all children to read. The story is about a little boy named Harold who draws himself a whole new world with a purple crayon. With the purple crayon he draws himself a world of adventure where he gets into trouble with monsters and caught in a large ocean. This book is really good because Harold always draws himself something to be saved with. This book is very fun to read and gets five stars because it shows how fun imagination can be for a little boy with a purple crayon.

Summary: WHAT A DELIGHTFUL BOOK!
Review: Once read it, you will never forget "Harold and the Purple Crayon." As a parent and one who has studied psychology, what I liked most about the book is the fact it teaches children to pursue their creative thoughts and talents. By nature, children are usually quite creative. As they grow older, many children retain their creativity but, unfortunately, a good number sometimes suppress their creativity out of fear of what others may think. Harold really does not care what anyone thinks, he just goes on doing what it is he enjoys doing - making good use of his purple crayon. He is creative, but also extremely resourceful, creating a pie when he is hungry and drawing a boat when the water is becomes too deep. Children will love the story and are sure to remember it for many years to come.

Summary: Get out that crayon and take a trip!
Review: Do books influence kids? Well, this one influenced me. First of all, the author went to the same college as my dad--Cooper Union. This is a very history education institution in New York that specializes in art, architecture and engineering. You can see some of the influence in Mr. Johnson's almost blueprint-style stories. Johnson was actually a cartoonist and married to an author of children's books. Maurice Sendak, the very reknown author of children's literature spent time collaborating and learning from Johnson. The idea of creating a world with a purple crayon is utterly compelling. The 40's and 50's retro style of the drawing is irresistible. Share this with someone you love and take a walk in the moonlight together. Don't forget the crayon.

Review: This book is short, sweet and takes you on a journey you wish you could create on your own. Harold takes his purple crayon, draws his way out of his bedroom, and finds a few adventures before he draws his way back to his bedroom. What other way to show children that the simplest things in life can be the most enjoyable?

Review: How can you not love the simplicity and the imagination of a story about a kid who draws his own reality? This book makes a great bedtime read for kids, since it has easy to absorb illustrations, and a simple story. And of course, a happy ending. You're depriving your children if you don't have this on their bookshelf!

Review: This is a neat book unlike others that I bet are in your kid's collection. The author has produced an ode to every child's imagination. Harold, the only character, produces a fantasy world by drawing his story with his purple crayon. Sinking in the ocean? Harold draws a boat. Falling off a mountain? Harold draws a hot-air balloon to take him to safety. Need directions in the big city? Harold draws a policeman to help point the way home. That's all there is to this nice little book. A boy and a lot of stick and outline figures drawn in purple crayon. It works
