Summary: The Time Twister
Review: Before i start the review let me say this IT HAS NOTHING TO DO AND IS NOTHING LIKE Harry Potter! This is the story of a boy who can hear voices from pictures and paintings! Alright? Anyways, this book was superb! The story follows Charlie Bone going back to Bloor Academy, and he ends up finding his long lost great great uncle, Henry Yewbeam. Henry had used a marble like ball entitled the "Time Twister" to transport him from 1916 to our present day. Bad move. Zeke, his cousin who is now over one hundred years old, is trying to find Henry and is trying to get his hands on the Time Twister. Really a suberb book. Favorite Part: The resuce. Least Favorite Part: NONE! A really really good book and anyone should read it!

Review: Both my 11yr. old son and I loved this book. It was hard to put down. We read the first book Midnight for Charlie Bone and we cannot wait to read the third book. The plot is great and suspenseful. If you loved Harry Potter you will love Charlie Bone.

Summary: As Thrilling as the First One
Review: can not say enough about this series! Despite its 416 pages, I couldn't put the book down and finished it in one day! Charlie's world and his adventures have me spellbound. In this book, one of Charlie's ancestors is caught in time, traveling to the future and ends up at school with Charlie. Charlie must help him and in the process learns more about the secrets behind the school he attends. His friends have a great adventure as they bond together to help Charlie achieve what seems like an impossible task. Magic and mystery abound, making me anxious for the next book to be published (July 2004)!

Summary: Time Stands Still
Review: Charlie Bone and the Time Twister is book II in the series Children of the Red King. A sequel to the first book Midnight for Charlie Bone, this book continues with the theme of twelve endowed children, all related to the powerful Red King. The main theme of this book reminds me of the scheme used to create the popular series Harry Potter, which now has made a multi million empire thru movies as well as the books. I would recommend this book to anyone who has a large imagination and would like to laugh at the mere thought of turning into a bird, or hearing photographs talk. At the same time, the characters are very easy to relate to, especially for a younger adult struggling with the tensions of growing up in a strict home. Every character has a characteristic about him or her that can easily be related to real life in a number of ways. For example, all Billy Raven wants is a family, someone to love him. I'm sure that every person can relate to that during one point in their life or another. The one thing that i really enjoyed about this book was that no matter how hard you try, it is very hard to put the book down. It sucks you into the plot and you just want to know what will happen next. Its not very predictable, and is very subtle with clues thru out the whole story. Something will appear in chapter two which you though was nothing to be concerned with, and it will reappear in chapter seven and change the whole ending of the story. It keeps you guessing about every twist and turn around the corner. There are parts that make you laugh so hard you lose your page and other parts that keep you on the edge of your seat, just wondering if everything will be all right in the end. In such a series, you can never be sure because there is always something going wrong. The one flaw in the book is the same thing that i liked. Sometimes plot elements come from nowhere, and others are clearly just for drama and entertainment. You begin to wonder how much of the story is necessary for the plot to take place successfully. I personally enjoyed the book thoroughly not only because it exercised my imagination, but because it was easy to read as well as enjoyable. The vocabulary was very easy to comprehend and the plot was easy to understand. I would recommend this book to libraries big in fantasy, or to anyone who needs a book to bring along with them to the beach. A light read with a playful plot will give anyone the boost of imagination that is craved in today's society.

Review: Charlie Bone and the Time Twister

This book is so gripping that for a moment I couldn't breathe! When Midnight for Charlie Bone by Jenny Nimo came out the book seemed interesting to me. When I picked it up and read it in a couple of weeks it turned out pretty good. It said on the back that a second book ,The Time Twister was coming out .I could just simply not wait. When I finally got a copy I sprinted up to my room and read it eyes glued to the paper. When I finished it,I ended up loving it.

Charlie Bone is a ordinary boy who can hear what people are saying in photographs. When his family finds out about his powers they send him off to Bloors Academy which is a place that is much like Hogwarts in the Harry Potter series. At Bloors,he has many gripping adventures there with his friends Olivia and Fidelio, along with many others ,as they uncover many secrets and mysteries about Bloors.

I would recommend Charlie Bone and the Time Twister to anyone who loves fastasy and mystery. It is well written even though the vocabulary is a little basic and a few times there are dull moments. I give this book four stars.

Summary: Great story, Weak titles
Review: Charlie Bone and the Time Twister

This book overall is just another book in the soon-to-be series of Charlie Bone. The plot and sequence of events is very well planned out. This story starts out with Henry, Charlie's great-uncle. He is in a drafty time in the academy, and he does an amount of things, and somehow manages to get to Charlie's time. Charlie uncovers his great-uncle's past and finds himself face to face with him. He goes through a series of unfortunate events until he finally get him safe. Among those events, Charlie realized that Henry had a past with Ezekiel the oldest relative of the Bloors. Charlie has to go through many obstacles to ensure Henry's safety, Charlie then rests after all that he has done to make Henry safe from the Bloor's vengance.

I liked this book because of the many ways it described different the feeling of things or the descriptive adjectives. "The marble felt warm compared to the drafty hall." Many of the sentences of this book use great adjectives with help visualize what is going on in the story, rather than finding how the situation felt or how it seemed in their point of view, this writer uses great descriptions which would also help readers get attached to this book.

What I dislike about this book is how it has weak and bland titles which make the reader not want to read it. The titles are very plain and show no sign of intention of there being action in the story. Except for the titles, this book is a great book and will make readers want to read this book if they dont care about titles. Some sentences already make great cliff hangers "Charlie froze, Henry was gone." A little better on the titles of the chapters, and this book would be ready to go.

My favorite part of this book was when they find out about cook and what was really inside of the kitchens. The kitchens were a giant place and Henry was likely to enjoy being inside there. Also, the fat dog is also one of my favorite charactors. I also liked the part where Henry returns to his brother, by the sea side, and there was a great reunion. This book overall was a great book and there definately should be more in the series, if there were to be more books to be written in these series, i would want to read them.

Summary: More Charlie!
Review: Charlie Bone returns in a worthy successor to his previous book. This sequel begins with a flashback: about 80 years ago, Ezekiel Bloor, as a child, used a small time-travel device to send his smarter cousin away to an uncertain destination. Which, of course, means the present time. Now old Ezekiel, still jealous of his cousin (now not only smarter, but MUCH younger), wants to get rid of him for good, and get his hands on the Time Turner once more. Charlie must find a way to smuggle his young great-uncle to freedom against the combined forces of the school and the evil aunts. The betrayal of friends, the tragic tale of Mrs. Bloor, secret allies among the Bloors Academy staff, the further development of Charlie's abilities--dark, tense and suspenseful, followers of the series won't be disappointed in this book.

Summary: Time Twister
Review: Charlie Bone returns in Charlie Bone and the Time Twister. In this book, like that last one, everything fits together just so perfectly, it's unreal. Charlie Bone is an endowed descendant of the Red King. It's known that the Red King had magical powers, so did his sons. Later, the Red King gone to live in the forest and never to be heard from again. His sons all leave to other places too. There are 12 children that are the magical descendants of the Red King, At Charlie's school, the Bloor Academy, which is a boarding school like Hogwarts, all of the endowed children go there. Instead of being with the regular gifted students at all times, the last couple hours of the day, the descendants of the children of the Red King would gather to do homework. Henry Yewbeam, great uncle of Charlie, was sent through time with a marble called the Time Twister which is a evil act of Ezekiel Bloor, Henry's cousin. Charlie found Henry lingering around the halls of Bloor Academy and Charlie hid Henry in the northern tower of the school. But Henry is caught by Ezekiel Bloor's people and thrown in a dungeon. Like all other stories, Charlie rescues his cousin and they live happily ever after.

This book was a great sequel, most sequels aren't as good as first but this is an exception. It was surprising to found out that the mean cook was actually a really nice person with many secrets. Her living quarters were tidy and clean. "'What a place,' Gabriel murmured, gazing around at the bright pictures and gleaming antique furniture. 'You'd never guess that all this was right under that gloomy old building.'" (140-141, Nimmo). I imagine this place as a mini-heaven under a stack of gloominess.

The over all theme of this book is that age don't matter. You can be old and young at the same time according to Henry. Henry is like 90 some years old and actually he is 13 years old.
