Rating: Summary: A wonderful guide. Review: Someone suggested this book to me when my daughter was about eight. I bought it and read it. It was important for me to get comfortable with the subject matter before I could introduce it to my child. The scariest thing was what do I (or should I) say to her? When she started asking questions, we would pull out "the book". After reading about a particular subject, we would then talk about it and share our thoughts. It was just the sections that involved her questions. At first, I held on to the book and when I thought she was ready, I handed it over to her. Reading this book was as valuable to me as it was to my daughter. She is almost 14 and SHE tells people about this book.
Rating: Summary: A great book about puberty Review: The real strength of this book is that it emphasises the changing body during puberty rather than adult sexuality (information which I provided as appropriate from other sources). There were things in the book that I had completely forgotten from my own experience! My daughter is so much less preoccupied with sex than I was at her age, and I'm convinced that her access to this kind of information has contributed to her healthy attitude.

Rating: Summary: ONLY FOR PARENTS WHO WANT THEIR DAUGHTERS WELL INFORMED Review: This book has draeings and diagrams and honest language about body changes and sexuality and it answers many questions that most 9-14 year old girls are thinking. (Many don't ask because they are either too shy or too afraid). Warning, if you think giving children information is going to cause them to be sexually active, don't buy this book. Because it has all the information a preteen could want.

Rating: Summary: Helpful, but not too entertaining Review: this book helps many girls i believe but for some reason it didn't really help me as much as my other books. it's more about health than reasurance about growing up. although it's very truthful and older girls would probably enjoy it more, it just didn't really help me or interest me. although it could be that i just didn't really like it, i get the feeling that many other girls may feel the same way.

Rating: Summary: Beware! Review: This book is way too graphic for younger kids. It may be okay for girls ages 13 and up. There is way too much about sex and too many graphic pictures. Stay away from this book! Do not take chances.
