Rating: Summary: Nice Rhythm Review: I just bought this book for my 15-month old son. Coming from a farm background myself, I want him to be able to name farm animals even though we live in a city. This book is so much fun to read because of it's square dancing theme. It's a very fast reading book when you get into the rhythm of it. My son always points out the cow and the donkey, and loves to "Cheep, cheep, cheep". I was pleasantly surprised with the illustrations and writing of this book. I am definitely going to get a couple more of Boyton's book for my son.
Rating: Summary: WONDERFUL Review: My son loves this book,he laughs the whole way through. From the first line right to the very end. I highly recommend this book to anyone who would like to have a good time while reading to their child.
Rating: Summary: One of Grace's top ten! Review: Our one year old baby, Grace, has enjoyed this book for several months and loves it more and more each time she hears it. The illustrations are fun, each animal has a cute expression, and the rhythm of the lyrics snaps right along. "Stomp your feet, clap your hands! Everybody ready for a Barnyard Dance!" This is the opening line and from there we read about the twirls of each animal: the moos of the cows, the chirps of the birds, and their various dance steps. It's an easy book to read with lots of expression, and it's fun to make the animal sounds along with the child. We read this book dozens of times a day and it's a huge favorite!
Rating: Summary: My 6 month old loves this book Review: This book makes my baby smile and look at me as I read. I love the fact it's never boring to read and the lines can be read with loud voices, soft voices, high and low voices, but it never has to be read the same way twice. I knew we were both hooked when recently I recited the opening to the book "Clap your hands, stomp your feet" and my baby turned to look at me and then looked for the book. This book came highly recommended to me and I have since given it as a gift and to a literacy program. A wonderful book with great illustrations!
Rating: Summary: One of the Best Kids Books I have Ever read Review: This is a very cute kid's story, with a great rhyme, almost sing-song effect. It is definitely one of the best that I have ever read, and one that I don't mind reading 5 times in a row! LOL I think that Boynton has the potential of becoming a legend like Dr. Seuss... she has that much talent in crafting tales which are amusing to children, and do not bore parents.
Rating: Summary: Barnyard Dance! by Sandra Boynton Review: This book was my children's love at first sight, and I just couldn't help writing a short review. Extremely easy to repeat and memorize for my toddler, funny and cute for my 7-year-old to act out! Wonderful, heart-warming illustrations. There is so much charisma about these deliciously silly, easy and fun rhymes , that I actually got more books of the author! They are the top hit with our family now. Try also 'But Not the Hippopotamus', 'One, Two, Three', 'Green Hat, Blue Hat'.
Rating: Summary: Silly Fun! Review: The first time I read this book to my 3 month old son, my husband and I rolled on the floor from laughing so hard. The pictures and rhymes are so cute and funny! My son is now 17 months old and he picks this book out of all the others night after night for us to read to him. If it's missing off of the bookshelf, he'll find it no matter where it is! All of Boynton's books are delightful, but this one is by far the best!
Rating: Summary: Get out your dancing shoes! Review: My 21 month old daughter and I LOVE this book! We do a little song and dance to it and we have so much fun together. Dad likes to join us, too. In fact, Grandma liked it so much she had to get a copy for herself. My daughter loves this book so much she practically can do the dance without it. When it's time to promenade (in the story) we hug each other and give a big kiss. I think that's her favorite part of the story. This a must have for every child's library! It's awesome!
Rating: Summary: Another one of our favorites from this author! Review: This has become one of our most-read preschool books! Our almost 4 year old still enjoys it, while his infant brothers 'read' along with mom. True to Sandra Boynton's form, she has put together another quality hardboard book in a cute rhyme with fun pictures! This and the others in the series have turned out to make great gifts to give also! You and your child will enjoy this and her other books! Don't miss out on the fun!
Rating: Summary: Fun, but not a classic Review: This is another in a series of fun little books to delight. The animals have a square dance, replete with rhyme. The illustrations, as always, are realistic enough yet still imaginative. Like many things in life, even for young ones, sometimes its fascinating, and sometimes not. My daughter loves this book when Granny reads it to her, and sometimes she pages through it herself, telling whoever is about what the animals are doing. After a few months, however, she began to pass it by in favor of other choices. She prefers the Going To Bed Book, also by Boynton. Still, I think this is a cute rhyme, and many kids will like it. If they've ever been to a real square dance, this would probably be a welcome read.
