Rating: Summary: My son's FAVORITE - and mine too!!! Review: What a fabulous little book!!! My son is 11 months old and this has been his favorite book since he first saw it at about 2 months of age. His daddy and I love the rhymes and rhythm too. This book has been a lifesaver for us in the car, especially when he was really little. If he got fussy and wouldn't calm down, I'd just start reciting Barnyard Dance - and he would immediately stop screaming and start smiling. It's worth its weight in gold for that reason alone!!! We've got several other Boynton books, and we love them too, but we all agree this one is the BEST! Too bad there's not an option to give it 10 stars...
Rating: Summary: My favorite Review: My son is 11 months old, and the first Boynton book we got was Moo! Baa! La-la-la! He loves that one, laughing and giggling. And he's enjoyed every other Boynton book I've bought him (they're addictive!) But this one - Barnyard Dance is our favorite to date! I was reading it to him tonight and trying to kind of sing it, and he was bouncing and pointing and smiling. And I couldn't help but laughing with him. It's really as fun as it gets. This book is terrific. Buy it.
Rating: Summary: One of our favorites! Review: Our son received a number of Sandra Boynton books as gifts when he was born, and we love this one especially! It doesn't matter who is reading it - that person becomes a square dance caller. Our son loves to hear our voices, see the pictures, and swing his arms in rhythm with the words. What fun!
Rating: Summary: this is a great book Review: This book has very cute rhymes. Or 4 month old loves it when we read to her. We ended up buying most of Boynton's books.
Rating: Summary: Barnyard Dance! Review: This book is so much fun! You'll want to read it over and over and over. Every kid will love it (from 1 to 101). It is great to watch the kids really get into it and start to do the Barnyard Dance all of the time. Once your toes start tappin' they will never want to stop. Parts of the book repeat themselve but it also keeps you on your toes with a simple little twist here and there. It's not to long, so even the youngest little one will love it over and over again.
Rating: Summary: Barnyard Dance! Review: My 18-month old daughter loves this book! When I read it to her she starts stomping and clapping around the room. It's so much fun to watch her and dance with her too!
Rating: Summary: GREAT FUN Review: This is a fun book to read. I look for books that have simple pictures that help tell the story. (I believe sometimes the pictures in childrens' books get too distracting with too many things going on.) I look for books that have bright colors that keep my child interested in the pages. I look for books that we can do more than just read the book. This book fits all those catagories. This pictures are simple and yet exciting enough that the keep my child's attention. We like to try to act out the dance the animals are doing after we have read the book. Sometimes we sing this book to a country music type of tune. The rythm of this book makes it a lot of fun to read. We are able to count the animals, make the sounds the animals make and in general have a great time with this book. All of the books by Boynton are fun. However, this is among my son's favorite books.
Rating: Summary: This by far was my favorite as well as my child's Review: My daughter and I read this story together so many times we actually memorized the words. She likes for us to dance around and I sing the words like that of a square dance and we have the best time and she really thinks it is funny.
Rating: Summary: Among the best and most loved at our house Review: I've been a fan of Sandra Boynton since the late 1970s. I was delighted to discover that she has written this extensive array of wonderful children's books. My son (now 14 months old - we've been reading this one for about 7 months) loves this one in particular. The cut-out front is fun to stick little fingers through, and the illustrations and rhythm of the text are fun to read and to listen to. He sometimes gets up and dances! He will pull this book out from among a pile of others when asked what he wants to read. You have to see the animals to appreciate Sandra Boynton's genius - the look on the face of the hen being 'swung by [her] partner' is hilarious.
Rating: Summary: A favorite Review: My son, who is now 3, has enjoyed this book so much he has it memorized! Yet we "read" it together ever night! He loves the rhymes and even acts them out! It is a special book for us.
