Rating: Summary: My Personal Favorite Board Book Review: This book has such great rhythm and rhyme! Nothing but silly fun! This book can easily be read in a kind of song manor, which is a lot of fun for toddlers. Your child will not only have fun, but learn about different animals and some verbs too, like stomp, clap, twirl, bow and more!"Stomp your feet and clap your hands, everybody ready for a barnyard dance."
Rating: Summary: One you won't get tired of reading! Review: This is a wonderful little book that both my husband and I enjoy reading to our one year old little boy. We have just reached that stage where he wants his favorite books read over and over (and OVER!). Fortunately, this is one that he wants read, and we enjoy reading! It has fun rhymes and a catchy rhythm. The illustrations are great, and our baby loves identifying all of the different farm animals (my personal favorite is the fiddle playing cow in sunglasses!). Bottom line - one of the best kids books we own!
Rating: Summary: My 2 year old loves it. Review: My two year old girl literally "bows" to the horse and "bows" to the cow and then she twirls and it goes on and on. She interacts with this book every time we read it. It's so upbeat and fun. We first took it out of the library and it broke my heart to have to return it. So I came here and ordered her her very own copy. I can't wait for her baby brother to engage in this book soon too.
Rating: Summary: Your baby will love this funny, little, board book! Review: This is my FAVORITE Boynton book! It is just plain SILLY; square dancing with farm animals. Indelibly endearing, the characters come alive when the fiddle-playing cow begins to sing, "Bow to the horse. Bow to the cow. Twirl with the pig if you know how." The rhythm is so musical, it's addictive, and GREAT fun to read aloud, or sing as in my case. "Prance with the horses, skitter with the mice. Swing with your partner once or twice." Simple, silly, animation; your baby will love this funny, little, board book! As an education tool, children will learn to recognize farm animals, and associate simple verbs to the action, such as bow, bounce, swing, and leap. WARNING: Barnyard Dance! may cause dancing, and the reader may develop a musical twang. Birth and up.
Rating: Summary: Looney fun Review: Sandra Boynton's books are so rhythmic that you can't help singing or at least reading in cadence. It's good for me at the end of a hard day to lose myself in the reading of her books. It's just good to act silly, and her books almost require that we adults do that. It's good to be cajoled iinto that. Barnyard Dance is particularly fun. And reading it (or singing it, which is what I generally end up doing) always elicits, "Do again, Daddy!" from my young ones.
Rating: Summary: great fun Review: Both my son and I love this book. The sing song rhymes are so much fun and the pictures are so cute. I have it memorized and will recite it to my son while we are in the car and that always makes him laugh. A must have for early reading.
Rating: Summary: Fun, Fun, Fun!!! Review: Very cute and fun to read. The rhymes are great and we don't get tired of them.
Rating: Summary: Can't Help But Sing It. Review: We've been reading (singing) this book to our son since he was 6 months old. It's one of his favorites still at 15 months old. When Grandma comes over it's the first book he wants her to read...every single time. And she's more than happy to oblige since it's so much fun to read. It's such a great book---with cute illustrations and rhyming, you'll find yourself singing it out loud in no time.
Rating: Summary: Barnyard Dance Review: I have enjoyed every Sandra Boynton book I've read- the pictures are excellent, the words rhyme and flow smoothly, there is always a good story/plot- and this book is not an exception. This book describes a dance step-by-step; exactly like a caller for a dance. The words really seem to make the book come alive. They have a beat and almost sound like music when read out-loud. The words rhyme, but one almost doesn't realize it because by that time they are borne onward by the wonderful tide of words. Like always, the pictures are excellent as well. As you may have realized, I really like this book and believe it is one of Boynton's best. Loggie-log-log-log
Rating: Summary: _Barnyard Dance_ is a family favorite Review: When my now-8-year-old daughter was a baby I discovered and fell in love with Sandra Boynton's board books. Our favorite has always been _Barnyard Dance_. The hysterical illustrations and the 'bouncy' rhythm make it fun for the grown-ups as well as the child. Now that I have a 1-year-old son, I'm having a great time reading them all to him for the first (second, third, hundredth) time. And, since I have the words memorized, he can hold the book however he wants.
