Summary: Good book--I wish the baby was bestfed!
Review: I really enjoy this book and my 3 year old does to. The first night we read it he wanted me to read it again 3 times! He really does enjoy it and we have read it every night since.

My only complaint is that the baby is bottle fed. I teach my children that babies are breastfed since that is how we are intended to feed our babies! Our babies don't get milk made for cows--they get milk made especially for them!

Summary: A disappointment!
Review: I was very happy when my package from Amazon arrived since I ordered several books for my son, who is to become a big brother soon. I was equally sad, when he took a short look at the book, whereafter he threw it away, and hardly listened to my storytelling. I see his point though. I must admit, that the pictures in the book are rather pale and not very convincing. It is a very short book, has no "logical" sequence and takes you only from one situation to another with no link to the pages before. Futhermore the pictures are not really clear, at least my son did not understand them. Ex. the baby is crying - why? The baby cannot walk it says picturing him in a chair, but my son can sit in a chair too, but he can also walk. I am very sory to say this, because I hoped this book to be a help for me and him to prepare ourselves for the baby. Unfortunately it was not.

Summary: A wonderful "new baby" book for little boys
Review: Little boys don't always respond well to the super-sappy books about the new baby. Fortunately, this book is different, talking about the new baby's arrival in rather matter-of-fact terms. It's similar to Baby Science: How Babies Really Work (another favorite in our family), but offers a fictionalized account of life with a new baby. I highly recommend it.

Summary: a nice preparation for the new baby
Review: My 18 mo son will sit and listen to this book, and it's the most I get to discuss the "new baby" with him. If I try to point to the new crib, or my burgeoning belly, he just says "no baby" and goes back to his cars and trucks. I agree that the book should have a nursing mother, in this breastfeeding age, or at least say "some babies have Mommy's milk and some babies have milk from bottles," or whatever. But I like that the little boy in the book is unflaggingly positive about his new sibling, and how much his parents still love him.

Summary: Excellent!
Review: My son was 2 1/2 when my daughter was born. We began reading this book every night and he LOVED it. We still read it a year later. It is the first book he memorized and "reads" to us now. He loves how the book makes being a big brother sound wonderful.

Summary: Okay
Review: My son was given this book as a gift when baby #2 arrived. Although he enjoys reading it, it's not my favorite. My biggest problem with the book is the mention of bottles and pictures of bottles on many pages. The majority of newborns in the US are breastfed, and the promotion of bottle feeding as the "norm" is bothersome. In fact, the book encourages the new brother to help feed the new baby. Although my 2 year old is too young to understand, older kids may feel as though they're "missing out" if mom is breastfeeding and big brother isn't able to help with feedings, as shown in the book.

Summary: A big help
Review: My son was only 2 1/2 when his little brother was born. Even though we tried to prepare him for the event, this book did more than we ever could. Given to us by a friend, I have since given out several copies to friends of ours going through this experience. This book really helped my older son understand that even though we had a new baby in the family, he was just as special to us and that we loved him just as much. As far as I'm concerned, this book has proven to be wonderful for boys about to become big brothers. In fact, he still loves to read it with us, almost a year later.

Summary: Great book for older siblings!
Review: My son, who is 22 months old, loves to be read the 'baby book'. We probably read this book 10-15 times a day! I am due with my second child in May, so I'm hoping that he will understand a bit more about having a little brother from reading this book.
The only thing I don't like is that the baby gets a bottle, and since I plan on breastfeeding, this may get a bit confusing to him.

Summary: I'm a Big Brother
Review: Really great book about becoming a big brother- touches upon all the things you can do with a baby as a big brother & all the things a big brother can do that a baby can not. Really cute book to help transition a child to becoming a big brother.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great for any family who is expecting another baby.
Review: This book can assist children become aware that even though there is a new baby in the family, he/she is still special. The text is easy to understand. The book has great illustrations and therefore, a child can relate to them. This book shows a number of objects that an infant would have around him/her: a car seat, toys, a bottle, a baby swing, a blanket, a crib with mobile, a changing table, and a stroller. In addition, this book explains what babies do (babies cry) and what they enjoy (being sung to, watching people, and sleeping).
I enjoyed this sweet and educating book.
