Summary: Where Did I Come From
Review: Where Did I Come From was handed to me when I was approximately 10 yrs old. I has older siblings and heard bits and pieces of how I was made. The book was great. It helped me and was not quite as embarrassing as I had expected. Now I am an adolt and have a child who has been asking questions so I ran out to the Library to get the book. It was a lot easier explaining the Birds and the Bees through a book than my own words. Again it wasn't quite as embarassing as I had expected. I would love to have this book for keeps for the next child that comes along! Another book that was given to me at age 10 was What's Happening to Me. Its about going through puber tand what to expect. This book I keep on my book shelf so that whenever my child needs to look and read what might happen next through her adolecent years all she has to do is go to her room and read it privately without being embarassed to ask her friends. And she will get the right answers!

Summary: I felt this book was great and easy for kids to understand.
Review: My mother gave me this book when I was about 10 years old. I am now 40 and I still love it. I have 5 children and I am giving them the chance to enjoy this as much as I did. I felt that my questions were answered in a language I could really understand and that I wasn't embarrassed. After I read it as a child, I was able to talk with my mother. She and I had a great talk. After each of my children have read it the same thing has happened. We talk and laugh, but we're not embarrassed. I have 3 boys 16, 12, and 2 and 2 girls 13 and 11. I thoroughly enjoy this book and share it with everyone I know.

Summary: A fabulous book!
Review: This book was just what we needed for both my 6 year old and my 9 year old. I have always answered their questions honestly, but when they both were insulted because they weren't invited to "watch Daddy plant the seed to make the new baby" I realized that I had missed something major in my explanations. Ooops! I promised my older child that I would get a book about it because honestly, I had no clue how to explain it beyond the technical stuff. He expressed doubt that such a thing could possibly exist in a book, but he was wrong. This book fills in those gaps. It describes sex in the context of love and physical pleasure, but does it in such a reassuring and humorous way, that it was hardly embarrassing at all to read it the first time, and by the third time it was a piece of cake! So funny! The only negative thing I would say is that while the author gives examples of alternate words used for breasts, he fails to do the same for male body parts, which hardly seems fair. But given the value of the rest of the presentation, I didn't sweat it. I just omitted that part when I read it since my kids know the real names anyway. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to help their children understand sex and baby making in the context of love and pleasure. For those that are more comfortable with a purely physical explanation (the old egg and fallopian tube diagrams that we endured during 8th grade Health class), this one may not be for you.

Summary: A great book for young children
Review: This book is definitely developed with the child in mind. It is easy to read, it provides humor, and definitely gets the point across on a subject which can often be difficult to approach. A definite must as a basis for discussion.

Summary: Highly regarded children's book!
Review: I had this book growing up, and now I have the opportunity to give it to my nephew. It's a light hearted, fun way to present major sex topics without being too confussing. The cartoons are accurate without being too graphic. I would recommend this book to any parent who is looking for a great way to lead into a discussion about where babies come from.

Summary: Hilarious, accurate, honest.
Review: I remember this book from when I was 10 years old, when I stumbled upon it in my mothers rooms and hence learned about the facts of life. I love this book so much, that I have chosen it to use for an assignment on audio/visual aids in one of my master's level nursing classes.

Summary: It was a big let-down
Review: I thought it would give me an idea of where Cuba got it's name, it really did not.

Summary: The best book about the facts of life for kids!
Review: I thought it was wonderful! Any questionable parts (ie: descriptions of making love and the feelings, etc) do not really need to be sticken from the book, nor does it need to explain safe sex, as I believe parents should explain those things on there own, and no one should just read the book to thier child without some kind of discussion and Q&A sessions! It is straight forward, and easy to read: I just read it to my child as I would have read any other book!

Summary: Popular young-reader's sexuality education book - fun!
Review: Uses correct words, simple language, humor, fun and empathy. Cartoonish illustrations.

This book is a little dated now - there are some language issues.

Topics are covered _very_ briefly. Indeed, since so much is covered so quickly, the book can be a bit confusing. However, the book is extremely good, popular, recommended, easily readable by young readers by themselves, and can provide a good oportunity for education between parents and children. But I'd suggest you also buy another sexuality education book for your child to provide different presentations of this important subject!

Summary: An Excellent Book!
Review: I was givin this book at the age of 8 years. After reading it, even at this age, the mystery of love, sex, and the making of babies was as clear then as it is now. Very well written, and I will give a copy to my child when he/she is able to comprehend what is read!
