Summary: My twins love this book!
Review: My daughter loves this book. She has been "reading" it since she was nine months and is now 15 months old and still enjoys it. She loves feeling the different textures on each page on the animal and enjoys literally giving each animal a kiss. When we read it to her we pair it with the animal's sound. She has learned a lot from this simple yet captivating book.

Summary: You'll read it over and over.

Summary: My daughter loves the animals
Review: My daughter loves to feel the scratchy, sticky, furry, velvety and squeaky kisses from these wonderful animals. She now knows all of the animals by name and can even make most of the sounds that each of the animals make.

Summary: Great Introduction to the World of Books
Review: My four month old daughter loves this book and its her favorite of all her books including other touch and feel ones. I think the bright colours attract her attention. If she is getting cranky I can be sure that she will sit on my knee as I read her this book. I always read it for her twice through as it is not very long and repetition is good for young children.

Summary: Cute, but not a favorite
Review: My nine-month-old daughter is very into books. She especially likes lift-the-flap and sensory books like Pat the Bunny. She will go through her bookshelf and pull out each book one by one and look through them. But, for some reason, this book doesn't interest her much. Maybe there's not enough to look at? Each animal picture takes up two pages and there's not much else to look at on the page. It doesn't seem to hold her attention. I think it's very cute though. Maybe she's too old or too young for this?

Summary: Great first book
Review: My son is only 2-and-a-half months old and has been enjoying this book for a couple of weeks. The interactive features of the book are for older babies, of course, but he absolutely loves staring at the high-contrast pictures. Sometimes we go through the book two or three times before he's ready to move on to something else. I'd say it's a great first book, even for the really little ones.

Summary: My twins love this book!
Review: One of my daughters will lean over and kiss every page. She won't let her sister turn the page until she's kissed the animal. The squeaky pig kiss is always a big hit! A minor warning, it may attract dogs that love squeaky toys.

Summary: Our daughter's favorite animal book.
Review: Our family LOVES to read this book with our little baby. She enthusiastically reaches out for the animals to pet their noses. We say the animal names and make their sounds. We live on a farm and this gives us LOTS of opportunity to talk with her about our animal friends. A slight warning, though. The pig nose is hard to squeak, and the soft velvet that covers the squeaker is easily removed by a child's inquisitive fingers.

Summary: Terrific tactile tale!
Review: Saltzberg has definitely created a "winner" in this his first book on Animal Kisses. From the outset, this book captures children's attention with vibrant colors and simple images, add to that, the appeal of differing textures and beginner's text for easy comprehension. "Do you like scratchy cat kisses?" The reader sees a large yellow cat, highly contrasted, on a red and violet background with its tongue sticking out, SANDPAPER - scratchy texture. Children find "touch and feel" books irresistible and love the expedition through tactile territory. Additional textures include: FELT - velvety cows nose, STICKY - dogs tongue, FUR - fuzzy bear kisses, PLASTIC - rubbery fish kisses, and VELVET - squeaky pig kisses. Oh, and Saltzberg earns BONUS points for placing an actual squeaker in the pigs nose! Terrific tactile tale! One-year and up.

Summary: Absolutely Adorable
Review: This book is wonderful. The pages are strong enough to withstand curious hands as little ones learn about different types of kisses. The animals are brightly colored which holds children's attention. This book is a great way to introduce little ones to reading, NEVER TO EARLY TO START!
