Summary: A favorite!
Review: Before my son understood what this book was, he made it a favorite by teething on it! But over time, he has learned to turn the pages and touch/feel every page! We don't go anywhere without it!

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Disappointing
Review: I bought this book for my soon-to-be-born nephew.
First off, the book arrived with the squeaker broken. Second, the book's material is not drool and mouth-proof - my 2-year-old bookworm would make mincemeat out of it in no time. Third, the text is very uninspiring and the cutouts to 'touch' are quite small for little fingers which don't have much dexterity.

I am returning the book due to the broken squeaker but have asked for a refund instead of a replacement, I will find something more captivating than this book for my nephew. It is not worth the expensive price tag.

Summary: A great first book
Review: I bought this for my son before he was born and actually started sharing it with him right away. It is good stimulation for him to have the different textures to feel and the bright colors are wonderful! It is a cute book but also educational and fun.

Summary: Brings smiles
Review: I purchased this for my 2 year old and 10 month old. They love it equally, although I think my 10 month old enjoys it more especially the sqeaky pig! He laughs out loud when I make it sqeak. Bright pictures and different textures, let your child discover new things..

Summary: Excellent Book!!!
Review: I teach a class of 1 1/2 - 3 yr olds, and this book was a big hit. I've never had the 1 1/2 yr old so intrigued by a book. This is highly reccomended.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Pig squeaker aside, this book is still cute
Review: I've had the same issues as other reviewers regarding the pig's squeaker: You really need to poke it just right (and hard) for it to squeak. My son (15 months) has trouble making it squeak all by himself, and so it can be somewhat frustrating for him.

That being said, he really enjoys the book. He enjoys touching each of the different textured "mouths" with his finger, and then proceeds to give sloppy kisses to each of the animals. That's a lot of spit, but the book is holding up fine so far (I quickly wipe off the page with his blankie or something else when he's done smooching it).

If your child is really into animals, I think this book is a good choice. There aren't a lot of words on each page (only about three to five), but even without words to read, the pictures of animals can still capture your kid's imagination and lead to lessons about animal sounds and faces.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Not one of her favorites
Review: Maybe I need to pull it out again now that she's interested in animal sounds, but so far my daughter has been so-so on this book. She gets frustrated with it because the pages stick together and you have to press the pig's nose just right to get it to squeak. Actually, you have to HIT it in the right place to get it to squeak. She never seemed keen on touching the different textures either, except for the bear.

Summary: My twins fight over this book!
Review: My 10-month-old twins love this book. They fight over it! They love to feel the different textures. Makes an excellent gift!

Summary: My daughter's favorite book
Review: My 15 month old daughter always brings me this book to read to her. She prefers interactive books (touch-and-feel, lift-a-flap) and that continues with this one. The bright and colorful pictures of this boardbook really capture her eye. The book has a scratchy cat kiss, a sticky dog kiss, a velvety cow kiss, a fuzzy bear kiss, a rubbery fish kiss and a squeeky pig kiss. The textures are great. She has enjoyed it so much that I am ordering it for a one year old's birthday gift.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A delight
Review: My 18-mo. old loves this book, and for awhile was kissing every single page. She then became more choosy, and kissed only her favorite animals (her favorites change from time to time). This is one of her favorite books for bed time.
