Summary: Very big Harry Potter fan right here.
Review: I absolutely looove Harry Potter. The reason I gave these books a four is because even though they are fabulous they aren't really reading books. They're more reference books and they weren't totally what I expected. I mean, I love them just the same, but don't totally get your hopes up about just sitting down and reading both of them. Although you can, seeing as I did, it is not as easy a read as the books or anything. I suggest that any REAL Harry Potter fan buy them.

Summary: One is better than the other
Review: While the Amazing Beasts book is cute and informative it is not as interesting as Quidditch Through the Ages. The book on beasts reads like a series of disconnected encyclopedia entries that add to the understanding of the interactions that Harry and company have with them in the novel, but it lacks any real narrative structure. In my book Beasts gets a 3, but Quidditch definitely gets a 5!!

Summary: Two Good Add-On's to Harry Potter Series
Review: "Quidditch Through the Ages" and "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" are two great books to read if you like the Harry Potter series. The one about Quidditch tells how the sport was formed, teams, moves, and other parts of the game. Fantastic Beasts explains the many beasts in the books, how they live, and what they do. If you want to have a great thing to read between the releases of the next books, you should think about purchasing this box set or just get them in paperback.

Summary: Wishing for More!
Review: These two books are wonderful for every Harry Potter fan. Geared toward younger readers, adults will love them as well. Qudditch Through the Ages gives us a great history of the game as well as descriptions of current teams. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them gives us great information about the types of beasts found in the wizarding world. Both written from a great perspective, Fantastic Beasts includes notes jotted down by the trio. I'm hoping that Rowling soon puts out more books within the books!

Summary: Awesome!!
Review: I love these books because I'm a huge Harry Potter fan! I like them because they were written by JK Rowling. I have disliked all books about Harry Potter that were not actually written by JK Rowling, so when these "textbooks" came out, I was very excited! Finally some books that have to do with "The Wizarding World," which were actually written by the creator of "The Wizarding World." I love the little notes written in by "Harry" and "Ron" in "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them." VERY funny!! Anyway, don't buy these if you're not a big Harry Potter fan, but if you are, they're definatly something to pick up. Especially since all money earned from them goes to charity.

Summary: Wondeful Books, Wondeful Cause
Review: I LOVE these books! I am just rereading them for the zillionth time. They provide all sorts of information on Harry Potter's world. Information which, besides being delightfully interesting, has allowed me to come up with some very interesting theories. Could Arabella Figg be a kneazle breeder? I love these books' text-book style; I once tried to write something similar, but it was no where near as good as what J. K. Rowling has done here. The notes in the margins of Fantastic Beasts are hilarious, and I LOVE having an encyclopedia of magical creatures. (With some magizoology to boot) Quidditch Through the Ages tells many great facts about the origination of the sport, and I delight in reading the two daily prophet excerpts they include. Overall, these are two, wonderful must-buys, and I hope J. K. Rowling writes more soon.

Summary: Very interesting
Review: Have you ever wondered what types of books Harry Potter reads, for fun or for school? When JK Rowling was given a chance to write two of Harry Potter's books, she jumped to the chance. The books are very short, but tons of information is crammed into them. The first book, Quiddich Through the Ages is talking about the history of the magical sport, Quiddich.. (how it started, what it formed from, etc). It's actually very interesting. The second book, Magical Beasts And Where To Find Them is a list from A-Z of all the magical beasts in the world, (there are a lot of them). After a while the book gets a little boring, so JK Rowling, who probably realized this, added in Harry, Ron, and Hermione's little notes commenting on the words, ideas, names, etc.

If you love Harry Potter, then this is a gr8 book for you.. Enjoy!!

Summary: Cute but boring
Review: I had been looking to bridge the gap between Goblet of Fire and Phoenix, and found these cute at first, but they actually got a little tedious. Fantastic Beasts is the best of the lot, as it includes little notes in the margins from the gang, but Quiddich Through the Ages is just tedious, boring, not fun at all to read. There are no characters that we know and love, there are no little notes to snicker at- just dry history that makes you feel that you should be memorizing it for some kind of a test. If you are looking for escapism, perhaps it will do for you, but not for me.
