Rating: Summary: Harry Potter School Books--- so so Review: The Books are great but sometimes its boring.
Rating: Summary: Short...But Sweet Review: I think this book is a fun read for any Harry Potter fan, although I felt a touch disapointed about the fact that they were so short (about 70 pages per book)... Also, I feel that Ms. Rowling could have included more magical creatures, such as bogarts, vampires, ghouls, poltergiests, dementors, ogres, house-elves (Hermoine would be very mad :-) and giants... The scribbles and doodles were a nice touch, though, and I apploud that. It seemed very in character. Again, I wish Ms. Rowling would have prolonged the books, as they might have been more, well, deep... these books also helped me understand Harry's world more clearly! Nonetheless, I didn't enjoy the introductions by Albus Dumbledore, as they were quite irrilevent and extremely unlike the lovable headmaster... I think Ms. Rowling should write more "textbooks" and such, although writing "Hogwarts-A History" would be difficult, as (if she stayed true to her word) would be over a thousand pages!!! The nice thing about these books is that all the profit goes to charity! So, kudos, Ms. Rowling! These books are cheap, so practically anyone can afford them! Anyways, I would recomend this to any hardcore Harry Potter fans, but not to people trying to fill their craving until the fifth book is out! Ta-Ta!
Rating: Summary: Just for Fun!~! Review: I liked the books so much...they were just a fun little somethin to read while waiting for the 5th book...reccomend for all the harry potter nuts out there!
Rating: Summary: Whatever you say, I think they're great. Review: Hi However short and 'unreal' the books may be, I think they're great! And come on people! They're for charity! Stop complaining! ...
Rating: Summary: Buy the book, its for a good cause Review: I thought these were ok books, but they were a bit... well, more than a bit dissapointing. Quidditch Through the Ages was a good book, but Fantastic Beasts and Where to find them seemed very rushed, and was nowhere near as thorough as it should have been. Also, it was very inaccurate. Several times in the Harry Potter books it mentions beasts or whatever and says that they are in this book. Naturally they are not described. Anyways, the money goes to a good cause, so...
Rating: Summary: Very informative and funny Review: The quidditch book is great. It makes it seem like a real book. The other book has all these funny marks in it, like someone rights "This is Goyl. I smell" and all this stuff. They're really great for Harry Potter fans.
Rating: Summary: Wow Review: These were great books and had everything I wanted in them. However, they were very short. I thought "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" was the best book. It had notes from Ron and Hermione and Harry. I loved the A-Z glossory of animals with ratings. I did also like "Quiddich Through the Ages", but that was an information book and had very little fun in it. It gave a few jokes but it wasn't very thourogh. These are nifty littly books that will hold you over till the next Harry Potter. Anouther little tip:on the back of both books you will find how much it costs in Wizard world. Get The Books! Its a good Buy!
Rating: Summary: Another Outstanding Accomplishment for Rowling Review: These books definately make readers of Harry Potter feel as if they're reading something taken right right from the boy wizard's world. And, if they don't, they'll at least appreciate the wonderful way they were written. I've talked to several fans of J.K. Rowling's bestselling series, and each and every one of them loved these books and marveled at the funny little jokes that Rowling slipped into the pages. So, if you're waiting for the release of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Book 5), you should buy these books. You'll be glad you did.
Rating: Summary: Decent Review: These books were okay, but they had very little detail and the plot was shallow.
Rating: Summary: Hugely Disappointing Review: Reading these two short books, it is hard to believe that they are written by the same woman who wrote all the Harry Potter masterpieces. These books are dull, very contrived and not very closely linked to the Harry Potter stories at all. I was hoping to read something to keep me happy until book 5 was released but I came away very disappointed. I appreciate that JK Rowling is being hugely generous in donating all her royalties to charity but I can't help but feel that these two little books were brought out in a bit of a hurry with little thought. I realize that JK Rowling didn't want to spoil the surprises contained within book 5 but what she did come up with were very weak. She would have been better to write the book 'Hogwarts: a History' which the character Hermione always mentions in the series. This would have held more relevance and have been more linked in to the story. However, having said all that, your buying these books will benefit starving children in Africa and I think that is worth a slightly disappointing book.
