Summary: Short and Sweet
Review: These two books are most definitely two of the best books I've ever read. Both relate to the ever-popular Harry Potter series and everyone I know enjoyed them immensely. Qudditch through the ages is one of those books that you have to read two or three times before you truly understand the game, but it's worth it. After reading this book, I read one of the Harry Potter books and I found myself saying Oh, I know what he's talking about. Fantastic Beasts and where to find them is a really good book, one I couldn't put down. I have always been curious about these creatures Harry encounters and I enjoy reading about them, but something's always been missing, and I can never fully understand these creatures. Fantastic Beasts and where to find them gives me a full explanation of each creature and more. It also includes little notes from Harry and his friends which will make you smile. I reccomend both books. They are quite short, but very good. Not only are they both really great books, it will give you something to read while waiting for the fifth book!

Summary: DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! YOUR KIDS WON'T READ THESE!
Review: I bought these for birthday parties, and a few of the Mom's told me (after alot of prodding from me) that the kids just looked inside, and threw the book aside. I decided to look at them. They are only for die-hard Harry Potter older fanatics. These books have no story line, and are "boring." The kids (I bought six sets of these things) all thought they were "not as good as the books." Save your money, and wait for her new book. .... Not too much thought or talent went into any of these books.

Summary: Harry Potter
Review: I am a HUGE fan of Harry Potter and the Lemony Snicket books. Anyway...back to the point, When I bought these books, I was completly amazed. They were like text books, but interesting. The little side comments were so cute! And, they also gave out little tidbits of information. These Schoolbooks are so cool! My friends didn't really like HP, but I lent them these books, and now they are HP's "biggest fans" Anyway, In Quidditch Through The Ages, it tells about the history of Quidditch, the first bludgers, etc. In Magical Beasts and Where to Find Them, it tells all about --you guessed it!-- Magical Beasts and Where to Find Them! It is my favorite of the two. I hope you like it, too. *^_~*

Summary: Fun and Beneficial Too
Review: These two books are adorable companions to the series. With forewords by "Albus Dumbledore" and "notes and scribblings" in them they are a light-hearted peek into the inner world that J. K. Rowling has created. With other added touches like the price in "Wizarding Money" on the back next to the Dollar Price they lift the spirit with a smile. The fact that a portion of the cost goes to charity makes this a double gift and a wonderful one at that.

Summary: A lovely addition to the Harry Potter series
Review: As we all know, the Harry Potter books are taking the world by storm and Rowlings is aware of this as well. Of course, she can crank out the 300+ page novels out as fast as she can, but not fast enough as the next book isn't due for awhile. So she decided to give us something to whet our appetites while proceeds go towards an English charity for children. Bravo.

So what are these books? Actually, these are novellas if they can be called anything. We've read about Harry's books that he has to buy every year and now we get to see what's inside of them.

"Quidditch Through the Ages" is simply the history of Quidditch including descriptions of players, plays and equipment. Actually, although it is fiction, it is a great asset for those out there who knew about Quidditch from reading the novels, but didn't quite understand the game; this helps clarify it. Also, gives very humorous details of the "beginning" of Quidditch long, long ago when it was used with rocks instead of a Snitch (includes stats of the victims as well. :)

"Fantastic Beasts and where to find them" is one of Harry's textbooks from Hagrid's class. This includes a dictionary listing of creatures we've read about in the Potter novels as well as descriptions of some we've never heard before (I wonder if this is a hint into the future books?!?)

But that isn't the gem for both these books. Apparently, during class and suffering from boredom, Harry and his classmates like to "doodle" little notes across these novellas to each other, such as "Harry loves Moaning Mertle" with a scratching out across them. Absolutely cute! Also, look in little details such as the foreward from Professor Dumbledore and why it's been released to Muggles.

The only reason I can't give it five stars would be they are in softcover and can be bent and worn easily as well as being kind of "thin" for "textbooks". Hardcover books are my choice for books I want to keep for my family down the line, but for now this has to do and the price can't be beat either.

A great addition to the Potter collectors and a big help as reference to them as well. Plus, all proceeds go to charity -- can't be beat!

Summary: Not like to Harry Potter books....
Review: I am a HUGE fan of the Harry Potter books, so I was VERY excited when I heard that these books were coming out. I got them, but they were a complete dissapointment! For one thing, it was like reading a school text book, but the information you were reading was useless because you cannot use it in the real world. The only thing that I liked about the books is the little side notes the characters wrote inside Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and they are very creative. On the whole I would not recommend you get them.
