Rating: Summary: Wonderful Books! Review: Well, if you are expecting Harry Potter to show up and fly on his broomstick, it certainly won't happen in these books! However, I was curious about what exactly they were, so bought them. I totally enjoyed them for what they are, school books. I think the writing in the books by Harry and Ron are classic!
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find them+Quidditch Through the Review: If you ask me, I, and my teacher are probably the biggest fans in the world. I really think that these books are cool.Quidditch Through the Ages: I think, that if you read Harry Potter, you can pretty much know what this whole book is about by hearing/seeing the title. It has facts about playing quidditch and information on the equipment. In the inside cover, it has a list of Harry Potter characters that checked out this book at Hogwart's Library. It is a nice, shiny book, but the designs make it look like it were in a library, always bieng used. Fantastic Beasts, and where to find them: This book is AWESOME!! It is also shiny, and looks like it has been used. If you look in the inside cover, you can see the following: This book belongs to: Harry Potter shared by Ron Weasley because his fell apart why don't you buy a new one then? write on your own book. Hermione you bought all those dungbombs on Saturday, you could have bought a new book instead DUNGBOMBS RULE!! It also has little notes that Harry writes to himself. You totally have to read this book! It is very cool if you like fantasy books- Chyna
Rating: Summary: I Want More Books Like These! Review: These textbooks that JK Rowling wrote are a fantastic addition to the series. They help create an enviroment where you can transport yourself to Hogwarts. I have been dying (and I mean it) to read 'Quidditch Through The Ages', it's Harry's favorite book and now I can see why. These books are great to have for a laugh too. When I was reading the 'Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them' I laughed so hard I rolled of the couch! Those little notes on the side are hilarious! And the names Rowling comes up with are amazing. I want more of these textbooks so I can imerse myself deeper and deeper into the expirience that is Harry Potter. But for now these'll do.
Rating: Summary: Potter crazy? What a bargain!! Review: They're affordable (like paperbacks used to be), they're funny, and they are the perfect solution to your HarryWithdrawal. _Order of the Phoenix_ isn't out yet, but you can jump back into Harry's world, and at the same time, help out deserving British children through the ComicRelief UK fund. It's generous of Rowlings, and smart of you to buy these books!
Rating: Summary: The Icing on the Cake for Harry Potter Books Review: Wow! These two spell books are great. The Harry Potter series is terrific but you never do learn what the spell books are like. Its odd to think that your reading the books that characters in books actually read. If you've read one, or all of the Harry Potter books, these two spellbooks are must haves. There fun to read and I think you'll enjoy
Rating: Summary: A Quick Fix of Potter Review: If you're looking for a quick fix of Harry Potter before the fifth installment arrives, look no further then these two school books. While the are quick reads, they are fun and informative of Quidditch and the magical creatures in the Harry Potter universe. They are worth checking out.
Rating: Summary: Zero's opinion Review: I think that Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them is cool with a capitol "C" because of all the fictinous monsters it tells about I especaly like the different kinds of dragons the book tells about.
Rating: Summary: Fantasic! Review: These books are great! I'm an avid Harry Potter fan and have read the four first books about a million times. Although these two books arn't quite up to the standard of the original four, they're still brill. You really need a backround knowledge of the HP books before you read these, ie, you will enjoy them much more if you've actually read the HP story so far. Quidditch Through the Ages - A fantastic facts book about the wizard sport of Quidditch. It includes info on all the British teams and info on teams from around the world. You can learn how and where Quidditch was invented and how all the balls were invented. It additionly includes the history of the flying broom and it's develoments. It also gives out information about the American game of Quadpot - an adapted version of Quidditch. All together, this book gives out a fantastic backround view to one of the best fictional sports ever imagined! Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them - Also fantastic! This book gives you an advansed insite into the world that JK Rowling has invisaged. It includes a dictionary of most of the noted beasts in the Wizarding world, although it does miss out a few which have been mentioned in the books. Each beast has been given a classification from the ministry as to how dangerous it is. It also gives out info on what a beast actually is and magic beasts in hiding. It is actually a Hogwarts textbook on Harry's school book list in the books. Along with this, Harry, Ron and Hermione have also written funny little side notes (as you do) which keep the reader extremily entertained. Both books include a Forward by the Headmaster of Hogwarts Albus Dumbledore and 'about the auther'. They also have a converted price on the back into Galleons, Sickles and Knuts! They are an amazing addtion to JK Rowlings first 4 HP books! I recommend you buy them NOW!
Rating: Summary: So-So Books Review: Im giving this 3 stars because they are pretty dull and shorter than what I was hoping them to be. If it were not for the occasional remarks from Harry and the gang, I would have fallen alseep reading the book about the magical beasts. Some But, the money goes to a good cause, and it gives Harry Potter fans something to read while impatiently waiting for Harry Potter #5. If J.K. Rowling makes another textbook, I would hope to see "Hogwarts, A History" (the one Hermione always refers too.)All in all, don't buy if you don't feel like using [your money] on something that you may not enjoy.
Rating: Summary: Fun But Fluff -- for Charity Review: First let me say that it is for a good cause so the books are worth the expence. However, my seven-year-old, who loved the four Harry Potter books, found them alot less interesting, and our interests our divided. My son seemed to enjoy hearing about all the different monsters, constantly urging me to read about "just one more." However, once we finished with Fantastic Beasts, he showed no inclination to hear about quidditch. I, however, laughed my way through Quidditch, despite my total ineptitude and lack of interest in most sports, of either muggle or wizard origin. Other than the fact that this is for charity, I wouldn`t break open the piggy bank for these, unless you are a collector or heavy duty fan. They`re fun, but no big deal.
