Summary: Give us more wild things.
Review: This book is so unforgettable. Mr. Sendak's characters and scenary would make wonderful wallpaper for a child's room! I've seen puppets of various characters in the book but no wallpaper. Such a shame.

Summary: It was a great book!
Review: Where the wild things are is one of my most favorite books. I also think it is a great starter book for kids my age and younger. I like all the monsters, and Max too. I think the book teaches us to use our imagination. It also teaches us that even though we don't always listen to our mom and dad, that they still love us.

Summary: This book is a timeless classic
Review: I had forgotten all about this book until I saw a commerial from a phone company that made use of the characters from it. It made me fondly remember the book and I was suprised that, since the book was at least 25 years old (I am giving my age here) it would still be so popular. Well after some Keyword searches I located the title and have ordered a copy for a Birthday present. This book is so much richer than most of the dull books kids of that age are subjected to. It fires the imagenation and teaches a moral without bring overly preachy like the Bernstain Bear books can be. I remembered spending quite a few nights afterreading that book fanasizing about my bedroom becoming a Wild Thing Place. It is wonderful to see this good still kicking around. It is a treasured gift for anyone entering Elementary School

Summary: Entertaining literature and illustrations
Review: Where the Wild ThingsAare is an appealing book to both boys and girls. This book allows for the use and creativity of both song and dance on those pages with large illustrations and no words. We often sing a song on these pages and pretend to be Max and the monsters. The premise for this book is one that hits home with most children and it allows them to explore their feelings when being disciplined. Sendak touches on the fact that parents love their children no matter what ....this book makes it o.k. to be sent to your room once in a while

Summary: A Treasure of a Story Shared by Father and Daughter!!!
Review: My husband did not have a lot of material possessions when he was a child, but the one book he really loved and remembered as an adult was Where The Wild Things Are. After we married I presented him with the miniature book and stuffed Wild Thing as a gift. He was thrilled that I remembered his fond feelings for the story. When we had a daughter of our own I made sure Where The Wild Things Are was one of the first books I bought. Our little girl is now three and it is one of her favorite stories. It warms my heart to have such a wonderful book, that my husband and daughter can treasure together

Summary: #1 Children's Book of All Time!!!
Review: Where The Wild Things Are is the #1 Children's story of all time. I am now 19 years old and I STILL read this book. I have all of the WTWTA plush toys, I have the book in hard cover, soft cover and I have Maurice Sendak's other stories (including his MINI-library

Summary: WONDERFUL
Review: I teach in a preschool classroom where 50% of the children speak English as a SECOND language. Nevertheless, this book is a clear favorite and they beg to have it read over and over. They enjoy looking through it on their own just as much! They love enacting the "wild rumpus"!!! What a great book

Summary: childishly imaginative/captivating for children
Review: This story chronicles a very bad boys day of imaginative roll playing and final acceptance of his place in the real world. I loved reading it to my children and watching as their little faces lit up in recognition of, perhaps, adventures they had endured during their own 'bad' periods of behavior. I give it an emphatic 'BRAVO'

Summary: not as good as new books
Review: I am almost 7 and my teachre said we have to say why we like a lot of books or do not like a lot of books this summer on amazon and then print out them and give them to our new teacher next year So I am starting with this book.

My dad reelly likes this book because he said it was good when he was a kid. I dont like it. The pictures are boring and the story is not long. My dad reads this to me a lot and I like the books that are newer. New books have pictures that are pretty and the storys are funner and longer. This book has pictures that look old. I wish my dad would read this to himself and let me read something diferent. Nichole
