Summary: Why Play on Fears
Review: The author and illustrator are both terrific in imagination and talent. My only criticism is in the one part that plays on children's minds in a negative way. We are told that there are "three reasons" that it is good to be a worm - 1- you don't have to worry about tracking in mud (Fine - that's fun!); 2 - you don't have to take a bath (but kids love baths, until we start to instill this cultural idea that one should resist taking a bath ); and 3 - you don't have to go to the dentist (this is really annoying. Children are so afraid of dentists as it is, why make it worse) Surely there could be 2 other items for this scenerio besides dentists and baths. Just my opinion and, yes, it may be a cultural norm for kids views, but why botch an otherwise fun book. Not for me.

Summary: Diary of a Worm is a Great Book!!!
Review: The book Diary of a Worm is a very good book. It is about a worm that is writing in his diary. He writes about the fun events he has had in his life. There are many funny things that he writes about in his diary. I liked this book a lot because the pictures are very colorful, it's very funny, the book is great for all ages, and it is very amusing. The Diary of a Worm won the Caldecott Award at my school. I hope that you will enjoy this book just like I did!

Summary: The Diary of a Worm
Review: The Diary of a Worm, by Doreen Cronin is a great book. It is about a boy worm. It is funny! The funniest part is when he says good morning to 600 ants. Another funny part is when he tells his sister, "your front end will always look like your rear end". I really like the pictures, too.

Summary: Laugh out Loud
Review: The dry humor in this book makes it appealing to both young and old. The daily life of a worm is an original topic that this book hilariously relayes in the most simple (yet to a worm complex) ways. I would recommend this book to anyone who appreciates the subtleties of factually stated humor or has an affinity for earth burrowing creatures. I LOVED IT!

Summary: No Wonder This Book Tops The Bestseller List
Review: The most entertaining, truly hilarious picture book I have picked up in a long time! This one crosses the line of humor, in that small children, to whom it is being read, will "get it," but the adults reading will be howling. I always enjoy a Cronin read, but she has surpassed herself this time. Favorite entry in the diary: his comments on his sister's enjoying her own reflection.

Summary: Worms are So Lucky!
Review: There are three books my children can't live without this year: Diary of a Worm, Drum, Chavi, Drum! and Slithery Jake. They are all written by authors who seem to have a brilliant sense of humor. These three books are a must if you want to bring humor into your children's lives.

Summary: DIARY of A worm!!!!!
Review: This book is good for all ages. This is a very funny book that many kids and adults will enjoy. Diary of a Worm is about a worm and his life and some things that happen in his life. He has a friend that is a spider that adds a great touch to the book. The illustrations are also very bright and colorful and explain the book with out even needing words. This book is very enjoyable and is good for reading when ever you feel like it.

Summary: Too funny!!
Review: This book is hilarious! Each time we read it, we see something funny in the picture that we missed before. It also makes a young worm seem just like a "regular kid" aiding in children's compassion toward living things, even a small worm.
I definitely recommend this one.

Summary: Great book to introduce journaling
Review: This humorous book will be a hit in the classroom. Elementary children may not want to admit it, but they love picture books. This one can be read aloud and used by teachers as a springboard to journaling.
