Rating: Summary: Librarian recommends this book!!! Review: I purchased this book for my school's library due to the reputation of the author and the fact that it is on the Texas 2x2 Reading List (see txla.org for the entire list). I have enjoyed all of her books and this is no exception. The day it came in, I shared it with a couple of teachers and it's reputation spread like wildfire. I had a record number of visitors that day who wanted to laugh and enjoy the new gem in the library!
Rating: Summary: A Kindergarten Class Winner! Review: I read this book to my son's Kindergarten class. They were rolling with laughter at each page. Fabulous illustrations & a great read-aloud. I brought gummy-worms as a treat to accompany the book. I highly recommend this book!
Rating: Summary: The Cutest Book Ever! Review: I read this to my 5 year old daughter and she laughed so hard that she could barely catch her breath! This book is hilarious and entertaining. My daughter adores it and so do I! In fact, I don't think I have ever enjoyed reading a children's book this much!
Rating: Summary: THE WICKED AWSOME WORM Review: I think Diary of a Worm is a great book and everyone should read it. It has wicked awsome pictures and it is a really funny book about a worms life. Diary of a Worm won the 2004 Caldecott award for my school. YOU SHOULD READ THIS BOOK!
Rating: Summary: Absolutely Hillarious Review: I think I enjoyed this book more than my 6 year old son. Not to say that he didn't like it... which he did, but I was particularly impressed with the quirky humor in the book. First children's book I read more than once just for the laughs. And, we've been through a LOT of children's books.
Rating: Summary: Funny book for older children Review: It is a very funny book but for children 7 and older, I find myself explaining my 6 year old girl, almost every joke.
Rating: Summary: It's ok Review: It's an OK book. I really think moms and dads would get some of the humor better than the child will.
Rating: Summary: Humorous and different Review: My 3 1/2 year old son loves this book, and so do his parents! I bet my son will think twice next time he wants to step on a worm. I really recommend this book because it's really funny; some of the things I have to explain to my son, in a humorous way of course, but that's part of our bonding while book-reading. It's a great book.
Rating: Summary: Great for beginning readers Review: My grandson is a beginning reader. He loved Diary of a Worm. He read it with some difficulty at first and then reread it about 5 times, with much laughter each time. After the 2nd time he could read it easily. This is the kind of book which makes a child want to read.
Rating: Summary: Great book! Review: Someone gave us this book & I wasn't going to read it to my 2 year old yet; figured he wasn't old enough for it. He spotted it though & wanted to hear it. Now it's one of the books we have to read everyday. He loves it! I think it's pretty funny & clever too.
