Rating: Summary: Holes Review: Holes was an extremely interesting book. I really liked how it held my interest throughtout the whole book and not just the beginning. I also liked how everything came together in the end. I found this book clever and creative, especally how the yellow spotted lizards,Stanley,Zero and their familys are all tied together. Louis Sachar did a really good job and I would recommend you buy it. Trust me it's worth it. This is a book that can really hold your interest.
Rating: Summary: Lisa and Jenna's Review Review: Holes was an extrodaniary book for the young minds. The hole digging was mind boggoling! WAHOO!! It was a great book and i recomend it to anyone and everyone!
Rating: Summary: Holes Review Review: Holes was an incredibly amazing book, it is by far the best I've read. The way Louis Sachar gives so many clues to follow throughout the book keeps you hanging on every word. how the clues acctually tie together at the end is most defenetly the best part. When reading this story, its like reading a story within a story. One is a story of the present and one is of the past, the two stories come together in the end creating an unbelevable tale. The authors detail and creativity in this novel is so interesting and fun. This compelling story of discovery, friendship, character, and curses will leave you wishing it wouldnt end as you turn the last page. This book is so scintillating, that even as a childs book, many adults enjoy reading it. Holes makes an entertaing read for both young and old.
Rating: Summary: Holes Review: Holes was an interesting book to read, because it was about a boy that gets arested for stealng a pair of a baseball player's shoes. the shoes were being auctioned off to raise money for a shelter for the homeless. He gets taken to a dicipline camp that forces him to dig a hole the size of the shovel that he is equiped. I liked this book because it was not that ordinary.
Rating: Summary: good book Review: Holes was an interesting book. It was about a boy who was accused of something he didnt do. He had to go to a camp for punishment. It was interesting to read about the different personalities of all the characters, and it was different than most of the books i usually read. If you are young, this would be a great book for you to read. You will enjoy it!
Rating: Summary: Holes is #1! Review: Holes was great. There is nothing much to say except to read this book and see how you liked it.
Rating: Summary: Holes Review Review: Holes was one of the most intesting books that i have read. I think that it was very easy to read and a little bit short. If this book had been longer i would have loved to read the rest of it. I think that this book is good and would recommend it to kids of any age. This is one of those must read books.
Rating: Summary: Holes Review: Holes was overall a good book but there were some things I disliked. I liked the way every thing fell into at the end of the story, such as where they found the lipstick container is where the treasure was buried. I did'nt like the way the author would go into talking about the history of Camp Green Lake in the middle of a chapter. This story teaches people not to judge people by their first appearance.
Rating: Summary: Great Book for All Ages Review: Holes was sent to me by a friend who is student teaching a 10th grade English class. I was a little skeptical at first of reading a children's book and getting something out of it. I couldn't have been more wrong. It's absolutely fabulous. It's the story of a boy who is wrongly accused of a crime and is sent to Camp Green Lake, a correctional camp for boys. Every day they are assigned to dig holes, to "build character". During his time at Camp Green Lake, Stanley realizes and reevaluates what he must do, and who he must be loyal to in order to survive amongst his peers. Holes can be described as a modern day fable, that gives an underlying message of "What goes around comes around." The writing is fantastic! Read it for yourself, and share it with your children.
Rating: Summary: THE BEST BOOK EVER Review: Holes was the best book I'v read ever.It definaley deserved the Newbery award.I would recamend this book to anyone who like mystery and suspece. It attracts people of all ages 11-100
