Summary: Holes by Louis Sachar
Review: Holes by Louis Sachar is a book I'd highly recommend to anyone my age. You can really relate to the main character, Stanley Yelnats. No matter what Stanley did with all good intentions, things would backfire. He just couldn't catch a break. His bad luck not only seemed to follow him throughout the story, but this curse was believed to have plagued his family, the Yelnats, for generations.
The author takes you back in time to tell the story of when Stanley's Great-Great Grandfather lived and then shows how his family's history changes the events in Young Stanley's life.
The characters of the boys at camp with Stanley were very unique right down to their nicknames: Armpit, Zigzag, Magnet, Squid, X-ray and my favorite Zero. Even though they were supposed to be big, bad, tough guys, the author reveals that they all had some good in them. The villain in this story, the warden, was one mean lady you wouldn't want to tangle with. She was almost as frightening as the spotted poisonous lizards that surrounded the camp. As you read you'll find yourself desperately hoping that Stanley Yelnats' luck changes. It's the type of story where you don't want to put it down until you know that Stanley and the boys at camp make out alright. There's surprises and twists in the story that you don't see coming which make the story even more interesting. If you like stories that are scary, funny, perplexing and exciting all at the same time, then dig into Holes. The story is a treasure you'll want to share.

Summary: THE BEST BOOK IN THE UNIVERSE!
Review: Holes by Louis Sachar is a fascinating book! It tells the story of a boy named,Stanley Yelnats (his last name is Stanley spelled backwards). I recommend the book because it is so wonderfully writen and how the author tells the story of a boy who gets accused of stealing and gets a choice to go to jail or Camp Green Lake and he picks Camp Green Lake. Camp Green Lake is a camp to build your character but really you have to dig holes and once you dig a hole that is five feet wide and five feet deep you get the rest of the day off. In Montana is where Camp Green Lake is located. The enviorment is very hot and dry. This book is amazingly brilliant and full of adventure!READ IT!

Summary: Holes the review!
Review: Holes by Louis Sachar is a fiction book with a mystery and exciting characters that keep me reading until the end of the book. Stanley is the main character of the book. He gets into Camp Green Lake because he found Clyde Livingston's sneakers that fell from the sky and people thought he stole it. Stanley met kids that had weird names that turned out to be nicknames. After a while they started to call him Caveman. The camp was a desert with deadly animals like yellow spotted lizards. When Stanley was at camp his job was to dig holes that were 5 feet deep and 5feet wide. He had to dig one hole a day. I could not put the book down because I was trying to find out what the Warden was looking for . I recommend this book because it is exciting and mysterious to find out what the Warden wants. I think the book is also interesting when Stanley and Zero went to Big Thumb.

Summary: Holes... You'll Dig it!
Review: Holes by Louis Sachar is a great book for kids from age 10 to 14. It is filled with adventure and mystery. I would give this book a five out of five-star rating, even though it can be confusing at times. You start off reading about a middle school boy named Stanley Yelnats. His life takes a turn when he picks up a mysterious pair of shoes that "fall from the sky." Actually, those shoes belonged to a famous baseball player, Clyde "Sweet Feet" Livingston. Stanley is charged with the crime of stealing the shoes from a homeless shelter, where they were going to be auctioned. Even though he is innocent, he is sent to Camp Green Lake, a camp for juvenile delinquents, and all he can do about it is blame his bad luck on his "no-good-dirty-rotten-pig-stealing-great-great-grandfather." The strange thing about Camp Green Lake was that it didn't have a lake and hardly anything around it was green! Stanley was assigned to Group D, where he met some other boys named X-ray, Zigzag, Squid, Magnet, Armpit, and Zero. Every day for the next 18 months, Stanley and the boys from Group D were forced to dig holes that were five feet deep and five feet wide. The boys were told that digging holes would build character. But you will have to read the book to find out the real reason the boys were made to dig holes at Camp Green Lake! Throughout the book you will read about the story of Stanley, his great-great-grandfather, and the "kissing outlaw," Kate Barlow. It is amazing how the author relates everything together. I'm sure you'll enjoy all of the mystery and adventure you're bound to dig up while reading Holes by Louis Sachar.

Summary: Holes
Review: Holes by Louis Sachar is a great book I read in fourth grade. The book is about a boy named Stanley Yelnats. His name is very different because it can be spelled forwards and backwards with out changing the letters around. Stanley unfortunately has to go to a boy's detention center called Camp Green Lake for stealing a pair of shoes. Many other boys are there, but his best friend's name is "Zero." They have to watch out for rattle snakes, scorpions, and worst of all, yellow spotted lizards. Every day they have to dig holes that are five feet wide and five feet deep. It may not sound fun but that is what they have to do. The reason I picked this book is because it interests me with all of its adventures. If you have not read Holes pick it for your summer selections!!
