Rating: Summary: Zero runs away from Camp Green Lake Review: This was my favorite book . The part I liked was when Zero hit Mr. pendanski in the face. Zero takes the shovel and digs one more hole under the boat of sam. This probably saved his life. A must read!!!!

This non-stop page turning book will keep you on the edge of your seat and it keeps you wondering what will happen next to Stanley Yelnants. Anyone who is looking to read a book that is fun and easy to read is going to be amazed. I have not heard anyone say anything bad about this book. I couldn't wait to get my hands on it when it first came out. actually this book was so good that it had a movie made after it. Luis is an adult, but knows what a kid likes and laughs at. therefore i give this book five stars.

Rating: Summary: Holes Review: This was really a good book. I liked the way the story was developed and how they kept going back in time. I also thought the characters were interesting, especially Stanely and Zero. I would recommend this book to anyone who has a hard time getting interested in most books. I read the whole book in a couple of days, it was so good.
Rating: Summary: A great read! Review: This was such a fun book to read. First off, I don't 'review' books like the others who tell you about the story. This book has many interesting facets to it. The story is captivating and moves along at a steady pace leaving no boredom. It even starts with a bang. In addition, there are intriguing plot twists which is a definite plus. Oddly, there are two other stories included in addition to the main theme. I won't elaborate but it adds a certain dimension, as well as humor, to it. I am not a politically correct person and am easily put off with social issue "message" type books. However, this one addresses issues such as racism, peer pressure, and adolescent crime in such a good way. It didn't feel like you were being preached at like so many "message" books do. There are plenty of character issues addressed as well such as honesty, perseverance, patience, and understanding. The book contains one small curse word that I can remember and no sexual references at all. There is some violence, including a murder, but the violence is brief and I didn't find it offensive. There is, however, some disturbing moments where a character becomes gravely ill but it's handled very well and used in a positive way. On the lighter side the book has plenty of humor. Even when it shouldn't be humorous you'll find it is. Mr. Sachar has a way about that. On the whole it's just a great book. I give it the full 5 stars for it's content, readability, humor, suspense and very happy ending. No wonder it won the Newbery! I suggest grades 5 and up for reading on their own and 4th grade and up for being read to.

Rating: Summary: How can words explain how great this liturature is? Review: This was the best book I've ever read! I'm 11 and I think this story is a story about true courage, and it way just amazing. About a boy who is wrongly accused and goes to Camp Green Lake for punishment. He has to dig a five foot wide and long whole in the blazing sun of Texas.
Rating: Summary: Couldn't put it down!!!!!!!!!!!! :0Þ Review: This was the first book in a long time that I couldn't put down. I don't read that much and this book kept me wanting to read it. The author, Louis Sachar, wrote like he was at the camp with the boys. He wrote so that you could feel the thirstyness, tiredness, and soreness of the boys when they finished digging the holes. When the boys were hot, thirsty, and tired; so where you. You could feel what he was writing. Near the end of the book you didn't want to put it down because you wanted to know if Zero and Caveman were going to live. The ending was shocking and wonderful. It had a perfect ending to go with a perfect book. I loved how the book told about the history of the lake and tied it into Caveman's life. This was a wonderful book. It was the first book in a very long time that didn't put me to sleep at night. I would tell kids my age to read this book. Mousey in Mr. Murry's A2 English 10 H.
Rating: Summary: ????? Review: This was the stupides book I have ever read its about a dumb boy digging holes,"HOW EXCITING!!" We all want to read that....sure.. this was a far by worse book Louis (Sacher) HAS EVER WRITTEN.even Wayside School Arrithmitic,Sixth Grade Secerts, and Theres a girl in the boys bathroom ,or what ever, is better than this. YUCK
Rating: Summary: It was OK Review: This wasn't my kind of book. I had heard a lot of wonderful reviews and comments about it, so I thought why not? I'm sure that many people thought this a wonderful novel, but I prefer something with a more educated and fantastic air to it. I'm very sorry, but a book about a boy who has to dig a certain size hole for 18 months straight doesn't interest me at all. Other people may have found this book wonderful and intelligent, I found it stupid and plotless.
