Summary: I couldn't wait!
Review: Every night I read to my son, 9, and my daughter, 5. As I was reading Holes to them, it got to where I couldn't wait to find out what happened. By the last two chapters, I felt I couldn't put the book down. I had to take it to work with me so I could read ahead and find out what was coming next. My son was not happy with me that i took it to work and was double not happy with me because I wouldn't share my findings with him until he heard it being read to him.What a great book!

Summary: WOW! We have yet to find a better story!
Review: Everyday after lunch recess, my students would come in so quietly to listen to Holes which I read to them. Soon students asked if I could read the story INSTEAD of having a study hall. Several students bought the book. Some students came to school sick so not to miss what would happen next. The applauds went on and on and a request for a sequal.

Review: Everyday in school after lunch and recess my teacher reads us abook and this happened to be the book I kept asking my teacher to readmore but she said she didn't have time. I fell in love with the book. At that time Harry Potter was my favorite book. Not any more I said good bye to harry and hello to holes. My facorite part of this book was when they were talking about kissing kate barlow and sam, and how they kissed so they had to aresst sam or kill him. It was also funny that the mayor said to kate you kissed him so kiss me and then later she came back put lip-stick on killed him and then kissed him and that is how she got her name kissing kate barlowe. this book is not about killing it is so good it is about people who have done somthing wrong go to camp green lake and dig holes but no one knows why they are digging holes that goes to the camp but then they find out and that is when the book starts to get really really good. So I think that everyone shoul read the book because it is so good and it is many people's favorite book so read it and make it yours.

Summary: The best book ever!
Review: Everyone had been telling me to read the book Holes for a very long time, so I finally read it. My friends were right; it was really good. I think it has a really interesting plot with exciting events (which I won't name because it might give away something). I also like how the author put in small, short stories about the town's history, Kate Barlow, etc. It starts out a little slow, but don't think the book is going to be bad based on the beginning. It gets much much better afterwards! I also think it is a good read because of all the surprises hidden inside.

Review: Everyone was telling me how great the 1999 Newberry book was. I never thought it would be this good. Louis Sachar has been known in the past to write not-so-great literature. Well, now's his chance to clear his name. READ THIS BOOK! This book is funny, clever, and exciting. Good job Louise!

Review: Excellent multi-plot story with very unusual happenings. It brings in an old-world, old-time event with the wild West of a century ago, and several boys in a modern work camp. How did he ever DO that? Everyone I know who's read it loved it.

Review: Exciting,unbelieveable, bizarre like. All this in one book, something you can not put down. Life was average, dull, and more like hard for Stanley Yelnats until everything changed when he found himself at the wrong place at the wrong time. This is where it changed his life forever. A must read book, if you are just the kind of person who likes twists, turns, and all kinds of books that just keep you on the edge wanting to read more and more with every page you turn...then this is the perfect book for you. A quest in disguise, and a story within a story within a story. So (you) the reader can pick up important clues and hints to understand the setting. The author, Louis Sachar wanted to make a realistic but freaky sort of book and that is what he accomplished. You'll love the surprises and if your that kind of person who thinks every book is great then you'll just say its the book of the year. Holes is good but if you just dont like things with too much coinsidence and and ask your self "whats the possibility of that?"then you might think its quite a turn off. But you'll enjoy this book and give it 2 thumbs up. And dont let the book cover turn you off!!! :-)
