Rating: Summary: An astonishing piece by Sachar... Review: This book caught my eye, while I was actually searching for a fantasy/sci fi book, I read the first chapter (only two pages) and I was simply fascinated by the content, I quite openly laughed out loud, right there in the store, after every sentence came a new burst of laughter, Sachar gave me a good laugh, and for that I bought this book. If your reading this, I highly encourage you to buy this book, although the rest of the book wasn't quite as humouristic as the first chapter, I'm quite sure that you will be as impressed as I was with this writing. And since the text is so simple, anyone from the age of 10 to 100 will enjoy this book! My mother is reading it at the moment, and she seems to be enjoying it just as much as I did, so do yourself a favor, and get a copy of this masterpiece, it will keep you occupied for atleast a week, and then you'll read it again, and again and again.
Rating: Summary: This is an amazingly interesting book Review: This book explains the ups and downs in life in a fun way. Once I started Holes I had a whole lot of trouble putting it down! Holes can be kind of confusing but only for the first couple of chapters. The plot is kind of complex, but that just makes it more fun to read!
Rating: Summary: This book is all that. Review: This book got my attention right away just for the fact that I never read books I did. I feel this book has lots of comedy. This book deserves an award fot the best book of the year. I give ten thumbs up for the author.
Rating: Summary: Twisty. I loved how you went back in time. Review: This book had many plots. I love that! I liked how it was all involved with the future and the past. With the Great Great Grandparents. I loved how there was a big curse on everything like the lake and on Stanley's family. I loved how everything that happened in the past was tied up with the future. For example: I got everything in the book except one thing. I didn't relize that in the end the yellow-spotted lizards didn't bite Stanley and Zero because they had onion blood in them. That's the only time I didn't make the connection with the past and future. I only relized that when my mother (We read the book together) pionted it out to me. VERY TWISTY BOOK! I LOVED IT SO MUCH! NOTE TO THE AUTHOR: WRITE MORE BOOKS JUST LIKE THIS ONE PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank You! Sincerly, Tricia Pugsley*
Rating: Summary: journey through holes Review: This book had such creativity and imagination. I recommend it to anyone with a love of a great mystery and anyone who is a child at heart.
Rating: Summary: Great book for young and old. Review: This book has a different twist then Sachar's Wayside School Series or Marvin Redpost. Talking about a boy who the police thinks stole a famous baseball ball players shoe send him off to a camp. Not avery nice camp, where everyday you have to wake up at 4:30 in the moring and dig a holoe on an old dried up lake 5 feet wide and 5 feet deep! Must read.
Rating: Summary: Great for the first 90 percent Review: This book has a great story, great characters, and tons of thematic material for discussion. It is very well written. I felt very cheated by the ending, however. The author takes tremendous liberties to tie things up, and I just didn't buy it. My students all loved the ending, though, so don't expect children to be as disappointed at the end as I was. Just don't expect any realism in the last few chapters.
Rating: Summary: I really enjoyed this book, very interesting... Review: This book has a very thought-out plot, but then again what do you expect from such a cool author as Louis Sachar? But make sure that you are mature enough for this, because, well, lets just say that it contains a little of everything. Overall, this is a highly-reccomended book, so quit wasting your time and go buy one... NOW!!!!
Rating: Summary: Radical dude! Review: This book has an exciting content about a boy named Stanley Yelnats. He chose to go to Camp Green Lake instead of prison. He has to dig a hole every day that is 5 feet in length, and 5 feet deep. This amazing story unfolds as you read about Stanleys past, present, and future. On a scle of 1-10, I'd give this book a 10.
Rating: Summary: I love this book! Review: This book has many magical qualitys. The book keeps you wondering whats going to happen next. I would defenitly reccomednd it.
