Rating: Summary: Holes Critique Review: The book Holes is very thrilling and amazing because the characters in the story are interesting.
Rating: Summary: Mel G. Review: The book Holes is written by Louis Sachar. It is a great book. It is a story about a boy's quest to innocence. The boy's name is Stanley Yelnats and he was committed of a crime he did not do. Because of this he was sent to "Camp Green Lake" instead of jail. You must read this fantastic book to find out more about Kissin Kate Barlow, Zero, and the Warden. I recommend this book for grades 4-9.
Rating: Summary: One of the greatest books I've read Review: The book Holes teaches you to NEVER read a book by its cover. I first heard of it and I thought 'oh great HOLES how exciting! That's just what I've always wanted to read! NOT!' I sat down and opened it up. It was REALLY INTERESTING! I enloyed almost as much as the Giver!(Almost!;) The way Louis Sachar tied the plots all together! It was wonderful! I would recommend this book to anyone who has time to sit down and enloy one the greatest books written!
Rating: Summary: Holes Critique Review: The book Holes was a breathtaking and a bonerattleing story at the same time!
Rating: Summary: Good Book Review: The book Holes was a great book. I got confused at some points only because the story would go from present to past and back and forth. But I understood why the author did this in the story. It all came together to me when I was done with the book, I enjoyed it very much. I recomend this book to any one who thinks every book is boring beacause every book they have read was boring, That's how I was, and I guarantee this book will not be boring for you.And thats why i gave this book 4 stars.
Rating: Summary: Hole's theme and metaphorical meaning Review: The book Holes was a great book. I liked all the details in it. Especially the way they put pictures in your head. For instance, when they say he's going to Camp Greenlake but he actually goes in to the middle of the desert. I also like the way you can get a theme and metaphorical meanings out of the shoes. I felt the theme of the book was "everything in life may look good at first, but can turn to be bad at the end." The shoes fell upon him and he thought it was his lucky day, but he ended up having to go to a juvenile camp for theft. so now we see how we can get the theme out of the shoes. I also thought that the shoes can express more metaphorically. You can replace the shoes with something as simple as having fun. You can have fun, but it may not be the right thing to do. If you do something illegal but at the time it's fun, it can come back to haunt you by getting arrested. This is how I found the shoes metaphorically.
Rating: Summary: A Great Book Review: The book Holes was a really good story. It wasn't only a story it was a story within a story within a story. They had good themes, characters, and a good plot.Luis Sachar is a great writer and I think that everyone should read some of his books. My favorite character is Stanley because he shows courage, strength, and ge showed he that he really cared for Zero and his parents. In the beginning a lot of things were going on but in the end of the book everything comes together. I think that everyone should try to read this book. Alexis
Rating: Summary: Read This To Find Out All The Info About Holes! Review: The book Holes was a very well made book. A story within a story within a story is what the whole book is about. I really liked how Sachar put so many stories into one book, which in the end came together. The actual plot I felt could have been better because the story was really strange and weird-- you'll see why when you read it. Later on, you'll meet a one legged Gypsy and many secrets will be revealed.
Rating: Summary: ~BeTtY BoOps ReViEw On HoLeS~ Review: The book holes was cool. I thought that Stanley was the best character in whole story. This book is is good no matter how old youb are. It is interesting because it is like 3 storys in 1. You really have to pay attenion to the story so you understand it. Louis Sachar has a wild imagination so read it! P.S watch out for the Warden's nail polish.
