Rating: Summary: B-Bar Review: My opinion on holes is that it was a good story. I liked the way it was a story within a stoty within a story, then everything comes together in the end.It was good but Sachar dosen't give enought information about the ending. The book was humerous with a lot of memorablelines. I suggest that you read it!!!
Rating: Summary: Review on Holes Review: My overall thought of Holes was that it was a very good book. I would recomend it to any other person to read. Some strong points in the story was that the plot constantly changed every chapter, so it kept you reading forever. Holes was a story within a story within a story. The setting changed to the past and present time in the story. A couple weak points about the story was that there was little deatail of all the characters Sachar put in. Another strong of Holes was that it was part Mystery and part Realistic Fiction. Holes was a great book and would read it over and over again

So now Stanley has to dig holes 5 feet wide and 5 feet deep because it is supposed to build character. But really the warden only wants to find this treasure that was stolen long ago by an outlaw. Will Stanley find the treasure or will the warden? Read this great book and find out.
Rating: Summary: Quite a Gift Review: My sister gave me this book as a birthday gift. I'm 33, she's 30. I wondered if it was a commentary on her opinion of my mental age. If it was, it was a compliment. This is a brilliant book--fun, suspensful, touching, odd.... What seems like multiple unrelated stories weaves together in unexpected ways. And the writing style is appropriately easy-going and ironic. I recommend this book not only to kids, but also to siblings aged 30 and up.

Rating: Summary: best book we've read in years Review: My son and I read this book at the same time and couldn't wait for each other to get to the same parts and compare notes!!! We loved it!! It was VERY interesting and kept you hanging on for every detail of the mystery. We plan to re-read and enjoy the adventure all over again!! Buy this one!!
Rating: Summary: adult and child Review: My son and I read this together when he was in third grade. We loved it. It's a sad and often horrible story of a boy who is sent to a 'camp' of sorts, rather than juvenile prison, but encounters horrors no parent would think of along the way to doing the time. The 'warden' of this 'camp' is a horror and criminal himself, though it takes all the boys there working together to show the evil. A wonderful story and great lesson too. Be good kids!
Rating: Summary: My 13 year old son loved this book. Review: My son doesn't particularly enjoy reading, but really got "into" this story and kept telling me all about what was happening in the book. He really enjoyed this book.
Rating: Summary: Even my 10 year old reluctant reader was hooked! Review: My son hates to read, but he loves Holes. I've been reading it aloud to him for the past week. He has also read some of the book to himself and finds that easy, given the short paragraph format and familiar vocabulary. The plot moves quickly, with each short chapter ending with a "cliff hanger" that compels us to read on. It's a winner!
