Rating: Summary: Lots of holes Review: My book is about some kids that get in trouble so they come to this concentration camp, in the middle of the lake that is dried up. I like this book because it has suspense and it is also funny. Some of the charecters names are Zero, X-Ray, Stanly, Zigzag, The warden, and Mr.Sir.
Rating: Summary: Dig It Review: My book report is on the book Holes. The author of this book is Louis Sacher. I'd give this book five stars because it's never boring. I would recommend this book for ages seven and up. This book is about a kid named Stanley Yelnats who had a choice to either go to Camp Green Lake or jail, because he is accused of stealing Slide Livinston's shoes. He picked Camp Green Lake. The problem in this story is that Stanley had to dig holes, lots of holes in the hot desert. Read this book to see what happens.
Rating: Summary: Impossible to put down, full of the best twists and turns. Review: My children and I could not have enjoyed this book more. We were continually surprised at the intricate twists and turns of the story. All of the clues to the ending were provided if the reader was careful and paid attention to detail. This is one sensational book.
Rating: Summary: Holes is not just for kids! Review: My children read this book in school and I was intriqued by what I heard about it. So!! I picked it up and started to read it and never put it down (a few happy hours later) until I was done! I absolutely loved the story and characters. You could almost experience being in the dried up lake with them! I especially liked how Mr. Sachar intertwined 2 stories, one of the past and ancestors and the other of the present Stanley, to come up with one wonderful story and ending. What a wonderful book for readers of any age! If your kids have read this in school, read it for yourself so that you are not missing out on a really enjoyable experience that you can share with your kids.
Rating: Summary: One Good Book Review: My class and I read holes in class, and I think it is awesome. It has adventure, courage, comady, and a little romance. It is a book you can't put down, one that you have to read from cover to cover. If anyone asked what would be a funny book to read to younger people I would suggest Holes.
Rating: Summary: Whoa Review: My class had ot read this book in school, and I loved it. I have a lot of things in common with Stanley (the main character).
Rating: Summary: It's a lovely story Review: My dad bought me this book and I looked at it and thought i'll never read it but one day i got very bord so i thought i would read the blurb after i read the fantastic discriptive blurb i decided to read the 'hole' book. The characters in the book are really cool and at times i feal that i can relate to Stanly Ylnats. This book made me cry and so the auther used powerful words that even made the whole story feal real.
Rating: Summary: Best selling book at our book fair inFlower Mound Texas Review: My daughter and I fought over this book--I had to get up at 3:30 am to read it because she kept taking it to school with her!
Rating: Summary: Holes Review Review: My ELA class and I just read the book Holes by Louis Sachar...I loved it! It really made me think. At the end you look over it and say, "Oh, wow! Everything is a circle!" Holes got its name from the fact that everything runs in a circle, and holes are circles, too! I really loved and enjoyed this book and plan to buy it and read it repeatedly. Read this book and be happy!
Rating: Summary: Moms of advanced readers - get this book Review: My excellent 8 year old reader can never find enough appropriate books for her age that are challenging enough for her reading ability. This one hits the spot (or should I say "hole"?) It is realistic enough to be exciting, without raising issues I am not ready for her to read about yet. I preview her books now because I've been burned by some books I thought would be okay. (Look out for Tamora Pierce's popular series that has the protaganist sleeping with several young men, for example.)We both loved it, and we had some great discussions about friendship, family and poverty after she finished. This book is a keeper.
