Rating: Summary: weird, yet good Review: Its a very good book, if a bit weird. I would recomend it to all book club teachers and students. Would be better, though, if it did not skip around as much as it did.

Rating: Summary: Wonderful book for adults Review: Its almost a fairy tale, in modern day, with characters we have seen in most malls on Saturdays. This simple tale comes full circle and warmed my heart. A lovely read and a nice break from the tomes on the best seller list.
Rating: Summary: Its basically an action story that envolves three stories Review: Its basically an action book about three stories that some how come together at the end it makes a good book. I give "Holes" 5 stars because it has all the makings of a great book. The author before wrote some very good books but I think this is his best book ever. So if you are asking me I strongly suggest that you read this book.
Rating: Summary: V's book review Review: Ive never read a Science Fiction book. The first Sciece fiction book I remember reading was HOLES. I thought it would be boring, but when I first started reading I couldn't put the book down. The author is Louis Sachar, he made this book very suspenceful but not by his words, but of what the person would imagine, or put in there mind. The settin gof the story is at a large dryed up lake. In the lake there are a bunch of holes, that campers have been digging. There are also lizards that live there, and if they bite you once you will die. The main character in the book is Stanley Yelnats. He was sent to camp because the police assumed he stole shoes from a charity center. At this camp, they believe that digging holes build up character. Stanley does nt believe that. A long time ago there was a little city that lived around the lake. It had water then, Stanley knew the story about what happened to the city. He knew that they burried a treasure some where around the lake. Stanley had a relativethat lived back then, thats why he knows about the treasure. During camp Stanley met some other friends. One of his friends zero, couldn't read or write so Stanley offered to help. Zero offered to dig part of his hole. Campers got mad and the mean boss wanted to take away zero. So zero ran away with no food and water. Stanley came to his senses and went to look for zero. If you want to know if Stanly finds food, water, zero, or even the treasure. Read the book. People say it is a " thrilling story '.They also say "excellent written". If you want to read a fun, well-written story read HOLES.

Rating: Summary: Holes Review: Jon cBook review Holes by Louis Sachar 10-01-03 In The story Holes by Louis Sachar there are many good relationships between people. One of the best relationships was between zero and Stanley they had the best friendship in the book. The story had many characters, and things such as yellow spotted lizards. These could kill you. Anyway boys who did something wrong were sent to a camp for bad people. This camp is called camp Green Lake. These people were sent there to dig 5 foot deep and 5 foot across any part of the hole for discipline. I would think that rumor would spread and that no one would send their kids to a camp like that. I like how there are things that aren't real in life like yellow spotted lizards. They make the story so much more exciting. Without a doubt I think that this book was great! And I would recommend it to kids and adults age ten and up
