Rating: Summary: Holes Critique Review: It is sometimes hilarious, and sort of frightening. It is a long heartbreaking tale of a boy going to the worst place he's ever gone to, but finding it to be something special.

Rating: Summary: A Hole In My Report Review: It started out as being just a project for school, but after reading just one chapter I was hooked. This book can not be put down. Having two storylines keeps your nose in the book. I would definitely recommend it to anyone 10 and over. If you want a book to read pick "Holes".

They hit him on the head and he remebers his dad is recycling shoes .So he try's to take them but gets caught by the police who think he stole them because a famous person named Clyde livingston and he was donating them to a auction and the money would go to an shelter. So he goes to a trail and chooses to go to a camp called "camp green lake" and met some kids who some are his friends and some not, but he helps this kid named zero learn to read and write, while he digs half of stanleys hole,{they dig holes to look for a treasure that was stolen by Kissin kate} Soon one day Zero had enough.. he hit Mr. sir across the face with the shovel and runs away.Stanley desides to go after him with the water truck. But he hits a hole and the truck tips over. So he goes on foot to look for Zero and finally found him under a boat. Rating: Summary: The best read-aloud I've ever used in my 7th grade classroom Review: It takes a lot of good writing to impress 65 7th graders. Sachar comes through. I read "Holes" to my 7th grade language arts classes, and they begged me every day to keep going. My students loved discovering the connections that kept cropping up as the story progressed; they felt like detectives. It is with sadness that I will put the book aside tomorrow!
Rating: Summary: Aye! Review: It took me only two days to finish this book. My eyes would hurt after so much reading, but I couldn't put it down.Staying up into the late hours of the dark night I began to lose what time of day it was for I didn't care what time of day it was I just wanted to read this book. I woke up to find myself sick one morning and was very excited ,because I had all day to read it. I highly recommed this book. I'm not a big book fan,but that didn't stop me from reading it. The chapters are short and the print is spaced out a bit. When Stanley goes to Camp Green Lake he is excited because he thinks it's going to be a fun camp,he finds out not. There isn't even a lake, there used to be ,but it dried up long ago. He was accused of stealing sneakers from a famous baseball player and has to go to this detention camp. About every other chapter Stanley keeps refering back to his great grandfather and great great grandfather and how they used to live at Camp Green Lake long ago when it was a town and not a camp.Stanley makes new friends and teaches a kid called Zero to read.A bad part is about the yellow spotted lizards which are soposedly the worst. They say if you get bit by one you will never survive.
Rating: Summary: an exciting and fun book for all ages Review: it was a excellent book i really enjoyed it. my teacher introduced it to me and we read it as a class. it started off kind of confusing to me then it turned completely around. at the end it all ended up as one big circle ( that is if you paid atention to what you are reading ) the main characters are stanley yelnats ( his name is a palindrome : a word(s) that can be spelled both forward and backward) zero the rest of tent-D, mr. pendanski, mr. sir, and the warden. stanley was accused of stealinng clyde livingstons shoes. he really didn't zero took them from a homeless shelter and set them on top of a car. the car drove away and as stanley was walking under a highway bypass they fell off the car and onto his head. a cop saw them and arrested him. he got sent to camp green lake and wasn't guilty. the rest you will have to find out your self because i want you to get the book and read it. it is an excellent book. it would even interest adults.
Rating: Summary: This is a book report. Review: It was a good book about a prison camp where water is rationed and workers have to dig big holes and the counselers and Warden are mean and they have names like Armpit and Barf Bag.
