Summary: This book is very interesting.
Review: If you like adventure then you will love this book. It's one of my favorites; it's adventure, suspense, and a little bit of fear all crammed into one exciting book. There is a poor overweight boy named Stanley. He has a curse on him which always puts him in the wrong place at the wrong time. This curse is all because of his no good pig stealing great great grandfather. One day Stanley is walking down the street and these shoes fall from the sky or so he thinks. The shoes really belonged to this famous baseball player. So Stanley comes home and tells his father because his father is making use of old shoes. then the police come and say that Stanley stole the shoes. So Stanley goes to court and the judge says he can choose to go to jail or go to Camp Greenlake. Then Stanley says he chooses Camp Greenlake, but it isn't what it seems. Follow Stanley on his journey to Camp Greenlake. Find out how the curse is lifted, how he makes new friends, and what happens at the end. After reading this book I have found out that it is very good. You can read this book for yourself and you be the judge. Don't take my word for it.

Summary: Patrick's review of Holes
Review: If you like conflicts and drama then read Louis Sacher's award winning book HOLES! Holes is a good book for any age but perfect for a 4th grader like me. In the book the main character is Stanley Yelnats the forth. Stanley is sensitive, gets pick on, pushed around, and cursed. I like how Sacher made his flashbacks in the book to tell how explain Stanley's family story. Read the book to find out how Stanley made new friends and breaks the family curse!

Summary: Holes, a good book
Review: If you like ironies and mysteries, thrown in with a little realisim, this book is for you. Stanley Yelnats (Stanley is Yelnats backwards)is a good kid convicted wrongly of theft. He is faced with a choice of jail, or staying at Camp Green Lake. He chooses the camp, but it is not what he expected. Camp Green Lake isn't that green, and there isnt much of a lake at all. The people he meets there might be stranger though. Mr. Pen-dance-key, Mr.Sir, and the Warden all all weird. GREAT BOOK.

Summary: Puzzle Solver's Delight
Review: If you like stories chock full of twists, turns, and interlocking bits of plot, this book is for you. Like a jigsaw puzzle, the plot connects Stanley Yelnats' past, present, and even his future in a wild and wacky, dark but not dolorous, adventure in a juvenile detention camp. Delicious descriptions will delight and sometimes assault your senses as the author unravels Stanley's character and relationships. I read this book to my class this year and they were spellbound!

Summary: Caveman and the Shovel
Review: If you like to dig, have adventures ,and get nicknames, well this book is for you called Holes by Louis Sachar. The main people in the book are Stanley Yelnats and a boy named Zero. This story takes place at Camp Green Lake. There's no water at this lake. Stanley's problem is that the counselors are using the kids to find something, and they don't know what it is. So come on over to Camp Green Lake and read this book and dig some holes. I highly recommend this book to kids 13 and up.

Summary: Holes
Review: If you like to read books about how sometimes people abuse of young kids . I recommend that you read Holes. This book makes you think how those kids feel when they get abuse by superior people. Once you read it you"ll want to read it over and over.
Stanley was sent to a boys camp called Green Lake because people accused him of stealing some shoes from a basketball player. He thought camp Green Lake was going to be a fun place, but when he got there he realizes that there was no lake in there but holes, holes that they had to dig everyday.
At the end, when Stanley was about to get out , the officer told him that he was innocent and his mom was about to pick him up. The warden of the camp said," If he talked he would be severely punished." At that time Stanley and his friend Zero were in a hole with yellow lizards. They were acared because they could die if one of those lizards bited them. The warden and the officer were just laughing.
I hope you read this book. At first I thought it would be kind of boring when I saw the title, but while I was reading it I started wondering about those kids . I connect this story with at friend. He was sent to a rehabilitation camp and he was treated very badly, sometimes they awake him up at 12:00 am to wash all their cars. I'm sure that if you choose to read this book you"ll never forget about Stanley.

Review: If you like when authors tie the whole book together. Then you will definitely like this book.

Summary: It's not just one story....
Review: If you look at the cover of Holes for the first time, what would you see? You would see a boy, a shovel, and well, holes. But, if you read the book, you will see way beyond that. Holes is sort of like a jig-saw puzzle. It is filled with puzzling pieces that you have to put together to "complete the puzzle." Holes is full of connections and surprises to make it more and more mysterious every minute. When I said "it's not just one story" I meant what I said. I look at it like it is a story, within a story, within a story, and if you read Holes you will see what I mean. There are many wonderful characters that will keep you in suspense for hours, so take my advice and read Holes.

Summary: I LOVE THIS BOOK HOLES!
Review: If you read this book I am sure that you are going to love it. First I thought this book was about holes and how people dig them. I was incorrect. I don't want to give the book away, but lets just say it is about a boy who has to dig holes for a crime that he did not do.
