Summary: Holes is a wonderful book, for ages 9 through 15 to enjoy
Review: Although it deals with a very fictional plot, Sacher handled it beautifully, weaving past and present together, to explain more than originally forshadowed.

Summary: Wildly intriguing!
Review: Although many people recommended this book as a "must read", I had no idea what I was in store for until I began this fascinating novel. The story that followed in the pages lingered in my mind long after the last page was finished. The author did an incredible job getting into the mind of an adolescent and spinning a tale that is amazingly realistic for a yarn of its size. The plot is intricately woven, and one realizes the genius of how all the parts create a patchwork quilt ONLY at the very end. I have recommended this book to all my students because Sachar takes the mind on a journey that requires deep thought and delivers grest rewards for the efforts. Sachar's masterpiece may be a dark novel, but hope prevails in the end, so that the reader is not so much left in a veil of darkness, but in the mystery of wonder. What a grand piece of literature!

Summary: Put down Harry Potter and get some REAL reading material!
Review: Although this book's style wasn't my personal "ideal" for reading material, I found it amazing in perspective and overall irony. Amazing because everything seemed to fit together like puzzle pieces, amazing because Stanley Yelnats (spelled the same forwards and backwards) discovered himself in digging a five feet by five feet hole every day under the hot Texas sun. I am sure that everyone, young and old, will at least appreciate this book (if not love it) for everything it is, and all it makes us think about. I am sure I wasn't the only one who imagined what Stanley (a.k.a the Caveman) was going through when he was digging the holes, and wandering day by day wondering if he'll ever get out alive. I am sure I wasn't the only one cheering when all fixed itself in the end (how I shall not say, for stanley wished to get out, and wished to die. so both can be options). Read this book. That's all I have to say. Just read it. Don't try and find out the details of what it's about, just read it. Sooner or later you will find out, and find yourself along with it. It's hard not to. Not to find yourself. Good luck, and I hope you enjoy this book.

Summary: A wonderful read for all ages
Review: Although _Holes_ is probably at a fourth grade level in terms of vocabulary and syntax, its content is sophisticated and engaging enough to hold the attention of just about anybody. I have recommended this book to everyone from elementary and high-school students to my husband and in-laws, and every single person I know who read it has enjoyed it tremendously.

Summary: It's obvious why this book is a winner!
Review: Amazing. You will start out with a no good rotten pig theft and a Zeroni curse for all of the Yelnats'. Next come a "hole" bunch of problems that rise to the surface when being dug up by the bad boys of Green Lake camp in Texas. The choice was digging or jail. What would you choose? They chose Green Lake, because as the judge said, there aren't open spaces often at Green Lake. "It's not a girl scout camp," Mr. Sir told Stanley. The boys in tents A, B, C, D, and E have to dig a hole that's the shovel wide and the shovel deep.(5'x5') Who would want to go there? Stanley didn't. With a bottle of sploosh and some stinky onions, all of the problems are filled in. I'd definitely have at least one "big thumb" up for this book !

Summary: Be blown away by this book, HOLES.
Review: An awesome combination of action, adventure and fun. Stanley Yelnats IV is sentenced to
Camp Green Lake, correctional facility for boys. There he meets several new friends and
went on great adventures. At Camp Green Lake boys spend all day every day digging
holes exactly five feet deep and five feet wide.

Summary: The best book ever!
Review: An excellent book! I would recommend it to anyone who likes a good laugh. I finished it in less than a day. I like the way it talks about his "no good dirty rotten pig stealing great great grand father's life." I think that his great great grand fathers life should be Part One and Stanlys life Part Two. Holes is the best book I ever read.

Summary: Great book!
Review: An excellent choice to read and re-read. I truly enjoyed this book. I have read it sixteen times! The book is possibly better than the Harry Potter series! I really enjoyed Louis Sachars humor, yet topic presence. The book's characters were interesting, and had a story to tell. The book really has a good plot, and is funny, sad, and full of adventure. Thank you for taking the time to read my review and feel free to leave me a helpful/not helpful feedback. God Bless America!

Summary: The best of Louis Sachar!
Review: And you thought the Wayside School series was hilarious. While not as silly as his previous books, HOLES is still very entertaining. It is his best work, so far. Am anxiously waiting for his next book. Stanley was innocent when he got sent to Camp Green Lake. But he gains new friends and courage at camp. Plus, find out what the holes are REALLY for!
