Rating: Summary: How I Rated "Holes" Review: I really likes this book, I would have gave it five stars, but I've read better. The main thing I like about this book is the climax. I think this book should deserve a medal for the best climax. If anymore to say, this was a really good book. -Maria Barragan
Rating: Summary: Holes was an AWESOME book. Review: I really loved the frendship Zero and Stanley had with each other. They bonded terrifcally well, and after a few days were the best of friends. Holes is a excellently written book everyone should read.
Rating: Summary: Holes By: Louis Sachar Review: I really loved this book. Its the kind of book you don't want to put down, you just want to keep reading and reading day and night. The characters in this book were really interesting, the body of the book was AWESOME. Everyone should read this book anyone of any age. I can't wait to see the movie. My friend told me about this book and I'm glad she did. If not then,I would had never fell in love with this book. I suggest to everyone to this buy and read this book your going to want to read it over and over again. This is my favorite book of all time!!
Rating: Summary: Mr. Sachar, how are you doing today? Review: I realy enjoied your book Holes. I liked the part when Stanleys great great great pig stealing grandfather wanted to mary the princes. Then when he went to the jipsy and asked for help. Then she said to take one verry little special pig up a mountain and sing to it while letting it drink water from the stream. I also liked the part at the end when Stanley and Zero were stuck in hole full of yellow spoted lizards. I sure would hate to be one of them. If I was one of them I would probably wet my pants or just faint. At the end I was glad Stanley and Zero got to go home from Camp Green Lake.
Rating: Summary: This book rocks Review: I realy liked this book. it was a lot of fun to read. I would highly suggest it to readers. It is about a boy who is always in the the wrong place at the wrong time. Stanley gets introuble for duing somthing he didn't do. Then he is sent to a juvi. center where he has to dig a hole 5x5 ft each day. The rest of the story i'll leave for you to find out
Rating: Summary: Holes sink Review: I recently bought 4 copies of this book to pass out to friends and family. I first read it a year ago and can't forget it. I live in Texas, so the setting really appealed to me. The story is funny, sad, joyous, violent, and heart-warming. I don't like violence, but the rest of the qualities sure did appeal to me. I couldn't put this book down. My 12 year step-daughter read it in 2 days (she was bored). The humor of Holes creeps into your brain when you're not paying attention! For instance, I hate onions, but they are so central to this story! I actually appreciated the onion. You might be in a professional meeting and recognize a character from the story in your midst!! I think it should be required reading at the high-school or college level when one has the maturity to appreciate Sachar's humor.
Rating: Summary: Great for book club discussions Review: I recently read holes for a book club, the discussion was great we all had different ideas of what was going on, and the activities were great I highly recomend this book. It was much better then Sachar's other books!
Rating: Summary: The book was swell. Review: I recently read the book holes and I found it to be very intriguing. It was'nt the best book I've ever read but, I must say I found it to be interesting and complicated. So if you were forced to read a book read this one.
Rating: Summary: interesting Review: I recently read the book Holes, and I found it to be very interesting and tricky. It was neat how all the little things at the beginning of the book tied in at the end. The book kept me interested the whole time I was reading it. It was easy to keep up and wasn't confusing. I really enjoyed reading this book and advise all of you to read it too.
Rating: Summary: Audiotape made trip pass quickly. Review: I recently took the audiotape of Holes on a five-hour car trip so my sixth-grade niece and two of her friends could listen to it. These three girls were fascinated by the story. Whenever we made a "pit stop" the first thing they'd do when we got back in the car was say, "Turn the tape on!" This humorous, intense story made a pleasant trip even better.
