Summary: READ IT READ IT READ IT READ IT READ IT
Review: I lovedx this book and you should read it if you have not. I loved it so much. When you pick it up you groan and say not another 200 page book but once you get into it it seems like its 50 pages and it takes you have the time to read it that it would take a 25 page book you should read it. It's about a boy named Stanley Yelnats (notice that Yelnats is Stanley Backwards). This book starts out with the sentence "There is no lake at Camp Greenlake". Stanley has been acused of stealing Clyde Livingstons shoes. He has to go to camp Green Lake or Jail. He ays "I've never been to camp before". At Camp he meets Zero, Armpit, Squid, Twitch, the warden, Mr. Sir, Mr. Pandanski and others.Every day in the hot Texas sun he has to dig a hole 5 feet in depth 5 fet in length and 5 feet in width. After a while he runs away. The rest is for me to know and you to read when you read this great book with many suprises and other details that are very important. You will love this book that you will not be able to put it down. Abd remember Sploosh.

Summary: I Just Didn't Like This Book
Review: I may be the lone dissenter here, but I just didn't like this book. I found Stanley's arrest and convictions implausible and I didn't like the story behind his name.

The story had too many coincidences. I thought the digging the hole business and the legend of Kate ridiculous; I thought the characters were a step above exaggerated caricatures.

The ending, while a delight to many left me cold. I plain didn't like this story and found it absurd.

Summary: Weird
Review: I may be the only person in creation who didn't like "Holes." It was just too weird and not believable. I thought it didn't make sense a lot of the time and I didn't like all the "just happened to" events. Nothing is really like that. It did not sound like an adventure to me. it was just weird. I didn't like it.

Summary: Truly Fantastic!!!
Review: I ordered, and quickly read, Holes over the summer after receiving it from amazon.com. I teach fifth grade and I read this book to my class early in the year. Every time I stopped reading my students groaned aloud, as they could not wait to hear about what was going to happen next to Stanley, Zero, the boys of Camp Green Lake, and Kissin' Kate Barlow. A fantastic book with interesting twists and a wonderful message for all. I highly recommend it!

Summary: a book that captures your attention
Review: I particularly enjoyed reading this book. It was an odd book of sorts, but one that drew my entire attention into the pages. I would highly recommend this book to any avid reader

Summary: holes, not a good book to read
Review: I personally didn't like this book only beacause when Stanley was in the hole with the lizards, not one of them bit him. They say Sam's onion juice was the cure. That's not true. This book was not realistic. This would be good for children because the chapters were so short. The story didn't make sense until the end. Also, when they are left in the desert and up on the mountain for that long just eating old sploosh and drinking the juice, there is no way they could have survived. In my opinion this is not the book for me.

Summary: An annoyingly [poor] book
Review: I picked up this book remembering when I was smaller and loved Sachar's "Wayside Stories" series. I loved them because they were crazy and wacky in a funny, enjoyable way. "Holes", on the other hand, is crazy and wacky in an obnoxious, annoying, boring, BAD way. I can't figure out why everyone likes it so much!

Summary: Holes by Louis Sachar
Review: I purchased this book as required reading for my son. I always try to read what he does so we can discuss it and it's characters. (Besides I love to read)
I was pleasantly suprised when I read Holes...it had interesting characters, and I enjoyed the way the story developed. I found myself enjoying the story and wished there was a continuing adventure for Stanley Yelnats. I am quite sure that he would manage to find an adventure no matter what he did.
