Rating: Summary: Holes Review: I liked this book. I would not recommend it to kids younger than nine years old. I liked how the author switched back and forth between past time and present. The climax was exciting. Thumbs up!!!
Rating: Summary: holes Review: I liked this book. I would reccomend it to all kids.I gave it a four star because I thought it was an exciting and interesting.Somtimes it can get cofusing when he has flashbacks. Another reason why I liked it is because it was about a kid who was overweight and didn't have very much friends but when he went to Camp Green Lake he learned to be disipline and he lost weight and he made more friends.I enjoyed reading it alot. I wish the author would make a sequel but he's not going to. I think I've only read one other book that was better. I didn't give it a five star because I didn't understand some of it. I really liked this book alot.
Rating: Summary: This is a fantastic book. Review: I liked this book. It showed how people that were innocent, get blamed for things they didn't do. The book was written good. All the things told came back together at the end of the story. If you read one book this year, read this one.
Rating: Summary: So unlike what I read when I was a kid Review: I liked this quite a bit better than The Giver, but I've been assured I missed some symbolism or something in that book. Holes is full of sidetracks, little stories that don't seem related, and the whole thing becomes a bit of a riddle. The good guys win, mostly, and history repeats itself in the most lovely way, and there's a lot of grownups being very, very mean, which is always fun to see.
Rating: Summary: The Best Book Review: I likethis book because it is hot and they dig holes and the kids in the book are funny
Rating: Summary: HOLES IS MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE! Review: I listened to the audio version of this book on my way to and from work. This may be a kid's book, but it's also for the kid at heart. I've listened to a lot of audio books, but this is the only one I've listened more than once... 3+ times to be exact. The author treats you as an intelligent reader and lets you fill in the "holes" for yourself. Everything in this story is connected... round and interwoven... Holes.... You've got to read this!
Rating: Summary: I love it! Review: I love "Holes." I love the way everything fits together in the end. I read this book and enjoyed it so much I read it to my brother. He really liked it too. I recomend this book to everyone-whether you like to read or not!
Rating: Summary: Holes has a lot of holes! Review: I love holes! It has interesting character and events. You will find the main character Stanley Yelnats has many connections with other characters. The story plays with your as you figure out who is related to who. Holes is a story within a story, within a story. You visit 3 worlds in means. Sachar has funny quotes and character. The number 3 is very important in story. Objects in this story will always have a purpose. I hope you enjoy this book as much I did.
Rating: Summary: Best book ever! Review: I love Holes! The first time I read the book was in the fourth grade and I have read it twice since. Everything is downhill for poor Stanley Yelnats, his family is poor and always has bad luck(a curse put on his family many years ago),he is convicted of a crime he didn't commit, forced to dig holes everyday, sunburn, and the treat of nasty little lizards. Sure he makes friends, but still misses home. The court gave him a choice of jail or Camp Green Lake. He ended up as a slave in a hot, barren desert, when one day his gets enough courage to run away with another camper. With no water for hundreds of miles, you think they'd soon die, but they don't. They find stores of onions underground and a spring at the top of a mountain. In the end all your questions are answered. Will they ever see thery're families again? What were they digging for? Why is the camp owner so mean? Will the family curse be lifted?
Rating: Summary: It's okay to be at the wrong place wrong time. Review: I love the book Holes by Louis Sachar. It is mainly about Stanley Yelnates. He was accused of stealing Clyde Livingston shoes that were a donation to charity. Stanley chose Camp Green Lake over jail. There was a curse on Stanley's family. It started because Stanley's great great grandfather didn't keep his promise aboutcarrying Madame Zeroni up the Mountain reffered to as the Big Thumb. It is called that because it looks like thumb. When Stanley carried Zero up the mountain he lifted the curse. Thats because Zero is related to Madame Zeroni. It's an awesome book I would recommend to anyone who likes realistic fiction. I give this a five star rating.
