Rating: Summary: wonderful! Review: My child loves this book--his first book to read independently. What a classic, what colorful images...a must for every growing library. It was once my favorite, as well.
Rating: Summary: The BEST! Review: This book has to be the best book for any young person to read. This book is so funny and will teach anybody to try new and different things no matter what they look like. I think that everybody should read this book at least once in their life time. All parents should keep a stock of Dr. Seuss books around their house for their kids when they are little.
Rating: Summary: thanks dad Review: I could write a pretentious and erudite review, but it would be much more useful to say that when I was very little indeed, my father used to read me Green Eggs and Ham all the time... I can remember how much the pictures made us laugh, and how I asked him to read it to me over and over again. I also recall that everytime I refused to eat anything I hadn't tried, my dad would become Sam-I-Am and persuade me to have a taste. I hope this book gets read by parents to children for years to come - especially the ones who are picky with their food.
Rating: Summary: CUTE BOOK ! Review: HI MY NAME IS TAMMY. IAM FOURTEEN YEARS OLD.EVERYONE AT SCHOOL TOLD ME HOW CUTE THIS BOOK WAS.THREE DAYS LATER I WENT TO THE PHENIX CITY/RUSSELL COUNTY LIBRARY, AND CHECKED THE BOOK OUT.IT MADE ME LAUGH A LOT. I THINK THIS IS A WONDERFUL BOOK FOR YOUNG CHILDREN.I THINK THEY WOULD LOVE THIS BOOK,AND GET A LOT OF LAUGHS OUT OF IT.THANKS VERY MUCH FOR READING MY THOUGHTS!
Rating: Summary: One of the best children's book ever... Review: What left is there to say? I first read the book when I was 2. Very few books could have such an impact. Still entertaining to this day.
Rating: Summary: Green Eggs and Ham Review: This book isn't just for kids, l bought it to relive childhood memories and they came flooding back. This is my all time favourite book, it went everywhere with me as a little girl and now l can share it with my Grandchildren. Dr.Seuss introduced me to the world of books, a love that has grown throughout my life thanks to his books.
Rating: Summary: Awesome book that I haven't forgotten even 25 years later Review: A classic that truly stands the test of time. It's the only book that I can remember 25 years after reading it for the first time. An endearing character with an infectious rhyme; Dr. Seuss' best and most memorable work - though that cat's quite a character too.
Rating: Summary: A cute, original, and delightful young readers book! 5 stars Review: It is a wonderful childrens book. It is smart way for a small child to have fun, while also exercising their reading skills!!! Dr.Suess has does it again!!
Rating: Summary: Seuss has Wacky, Wonderful, illustrations! Review: Green Eggs and Ham is a classic because the wonderful rhyming text helps kids remember the simple funny story. The illustrations are what really knock me out though. Not many illustrators dare to go so far with their originality.
Rating: Summary: Reading between the lines Review: Strength: Catchy lines and detailed descriptions of the "delectable" green eggs keep readers involved in this page turning wonder. Detailing the conflicts between a drug-pushing Egg dealer (Sam) and his unsuspecting child pawn, Green Eggs and Ham is an intricate tale of peer pressure during the 70's. Lines like "I do not like them here or there. I do not like them anywhere!" are breathtaking when read aloud in the presence of others. When the child reaches his emotional breaking point during the climax and finally gives in to eat the eggs, it feels as if Seuss is ripping your moral standards from within.
Weakness: Readers are quick to misinterpret this book as an introductory reading cartoon because of the almost complete one-syllable word composition and colorful drawings that accompany each page. One must look deeper and read between the lines to truly grasp what the author is saying. Would you eat the eggs? In a box, with a fox, in a house, with a mouse?
