Summary: Long time fan
Review: These are wonderful stories, and fun for dad too.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A must have for any child who loves Thomas the Tank Engine.
Review: This book contains some great stories about Thomas the Tank Engine, and all of his friends including Percy, Henry, Gordon, Anabel, Clara, James, Bertie, and many more.

Prior to buying this, we have purchased many Thomas books for our son, most of which wear out or get destroyed very quickly as small paperback books do. This book is the perfect solution, it has ALL of the Thomas stories in it, it has a good strong cover, and it will last for a while.

My 3 year old son loves this book, it is one of his favorite bedtime books. The stories are a good length to read 1 or 2 of them at bedtime.

Summary: This book is the real thing from the old country.
Review: This book contains the original Thomas The Tank Engine stories as written by Rev. Awdry and published in the UK. The books we get in the US with stills from the TV show do not compare to the line drawings and perfect queen's English of the originals. My son used to beg friends to bring him back the 'real' Thomas stories when they went to the UK on business. Those days are over now. Another reviewer mentioned that these stories are great for new readers. We have found that to be true as well.

Summary: Great for Thomas Fans!!
Review: This book is great for all ages of Thomas fans. I got this book to go with a Thomas set that we plan to give for Christmas! It is a large book great for mommy or daddy to read at bedtime! Has all the stories in one volume so you know you have the right book...just find the right story:0). Great value! Brings all those wooden trains to life!

Summary: A must-have for your Thomas collection
Review: This book is great, it is presented nicely and the stories and many illustrations are excellent. Overprotective parents may complain about darker themes (scrapping and Misbehaving) or use of phrases like "Shut Up" but there is nothing I find wrong with that. Do those parents expect their children's whole lives to be sugar coated and sweet? There is a great variety of stories, but the main problem is the lack of the 14 volumes written by the Rev. W. Awdry's son Christopher Awdry. Though one or two of his Railway Series books are in print, (they are Really Useful Engines, and depending where you look, More About Thomas the Tank Engine) most of his books are out of print and hard to find. Having obtained some of them used, I can tell you they are great and if they were part of this book I'd give it 5 stars. Instead, I give it 4 and a half .

Summary: Creepy and mean
Review: This book is the source of the rich Thomas the Tank Engine legacy being mined by Britt Allcroft, Random House and others. It ain't Lord of the Rings, but it's an introduction to a world just as rich, if you talk to grownup steam train aficionados. My 3 1/2 year old loves the stories, even if much of the detail goes over his head. Hopefully, he'll still be reading it - and all by himself - when he's twice or three times his present age. We live in a Thomas world at our house; it's my son's passion. I'd been buying the individual books at about $10 each when I found this one, with all 26 books included. All of the more obscure engines and their stories, a map of the Island of Sodor (which put to rest a family debate about just where it was - it's in the Irish Sea between Barrow and the Isle of Man), an intro by and biography of the author, biographies of the different artists whose imaginations embellished the characters over the years, a sense of the history of steam and diesel trains, and a rich vocabulary, enrich the Thomas experience for child and adult alike. Most impressive to me was the fact that trainmen often told the Rev. Awdry how real his stories were - that, aside from trains having personalities and talking to each other, all the events actually happened to a train at one time or other.

Summary: Original pictures, original stories - what more could we wan
Review: This collection of stories is a wonderful book for Thomas fans. Not only are all the original stories and pictures here, there is also a fascinating foreword by Rev. Awdry. Our family has had the original individual books for years but my grandsons and I prefer to sit down with one big book and choose a different story each time, without having to sort through a pile of books. Wonderful value for money.

Summary: Thomas is tops
Review: This is a brilliant read, every Thomas fan should own one. A far cry from the stories on TV, this shows Thomas and his friends before they even hit the small screen(Soon to be SILVER!). Some characters mentioned, Culdee and the Mountain Engines, and the Small engines are only met once and not again. From Edward's Day Out to Toby's Tightrope, I think you'll really enjoy this splendid collection of Classics.
