Rating: Summary: Great even for newborns Review: I bought this book in Spanish (I don't believe it gains or loses anything in the translation) before my son was born. He loves it! He has loved it since I first started reading to him at a week of age. The gentle rhyme and the gorgeous illustrations keep him captivated. I highly recommend this for young children, as I do many of Eric Carle's books.
Rating: Summary: Brown Bear, Brown Bear, WHat Do You See? Review: The children (ages 2-4) will really enjoy this book. They usually enjoy reading it themselves with little prompting. The illustration keep busy minds interested in what will come next.
Rating: Summary: A must have! Review: There's not much to say about this book that hasn't already been said -- it's fantastic! Colorful, interactive, and fun for mom and dad to read outloud. We are finally buying our own copy so someone else at the library will have a chance to check their copy out!
Rating: Summary: A great book for many ages Review: This is a great book for the very young because of the bright illustrations and for toddlers learning animals and colors. A favorite at our house.
Rating: Summary: Great book for learning colors Review: My little girl got this book when she was two years old and we read it together quite a few time together but she still has this book and she pretends to read it by herself because she learned her colors and knows how the words go and puts two and two together.
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: This has always been one of my favorite books. This is a rhyming book that follows animals around asking them what they see, such as another animal, or food. This is a wonderful book with beautiful illustrations.
Rating: Summary: a classic Review: I remember loving this book as a child, and reading this to my six-month-old son brought back wonderful memories. Yes, there's a simplistic theme running through the pages, but a young child listens for the repetitive phrase and looks for the big, colorful images. My son gets very excited each time I read the book to him, reaching for each of the animals as the page turns; and as he gets older and can comprehend the pictures better, I'm sure he'll appreciate Martin and Carle's work as much as I did.I highly recommend this delightful book.
Rating: Summary: It makes a good song! Review: My 5 year old first picked up this book in Pre-K. Yesterday was their graduation and the whole class sang the words to "Brown Bear". Try it! It's a very melodic song.
Rating: Summary: Colorful and Simplistic Review: This is a great book for preschoolers and beginning readers. The text repeats (reinforces word recognition and speech patterns) and the colors are vivid. My toddler actually learned his colors partially because of this book. He loves to look at the faces of the children and points out body parts.
Rating: Summary: Excellent even for infants Review: This is the first book we read to my son. He received it for Christmas when he was 2 months old, and I began reading it to him about then. At about 4 months, he was paying attention to it. Later, he enjoyed the animal sound effects we made when we read it to him. Brown Bear, Brown Bear was his very first favorite book, no doubt because the illustrations are large and clear, and the text is repetitive.
