Rating: Summary: A Must Have Book for all Children. Review: Brown Bear, Brown Bear has provided my child with reading enjoyment since 9 months of age. The colors are outstanding and eye-catching to the little ones. This is most definately her favorite book. (As the book shows). It teaches children of various animals and associates them with colors. At the age of 14 months, my daughter could depict every picture and state it by name and color. True educational book for the young at heart . If your child does not have this book, trust me, buy it - it is well worth it. It's companion book, "Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What do you hear." is as phenomem.
Rating: Summary: This is my son's favorite book! Review: My son received this book as a gift on his first birthday. He absolutely loves it. My husband and I have tried to hide it several times at the bottom of the book basket, and he will dig for it every time! I bought Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear? but my son always goes back to Brown Bear and will not let you fool him into reading anything different!
Rating: Summary: My seven-month old son's favorite book Review: This book's beautiful artwork and simple refrain is delightful. My son loves this book. Older children love it too. It's a great book for a child to read to an adult. We loved it so much that we bought Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear too!
Rating: Summary: Still Bill's best work Review: I have known and worked with Bill and I still think it is still his "masterpiece". When I have children, I plan on reading it to them. And please do READ it to children-that's the best way.
Rating: Summary: Excellent for preschoolers Review: My daughter's preschool class read this book and memorized it. They also made it into a play. She is constantly telling me the story of Brown Bear. The illustrations and the story go so well together that it is a must have for any household.
Rating: Summary: "An Attention Grabbing Book for the Busiest of Toddlers" Review: My very busy nineteen-month old son was grabbed by this book. It kept his attention from start to finish. He has had it since Christmas, and already knows most of it by heart. With some of his favorite animals, and rhyming text, it has helped him to begin recognizing his colors. This book is one of my all time favorites. We have even incorporated it into a song for bedtime!! I purchased the board book edition because it's durable and smaller, making it easy for my son to handle.
Rating: Summary: Recommended by Speech-Language Pathologists for therapy. Review: This book has been a integral tool in my son's speech and language therapy. Its repetitive phrasing provides a rhythm for learning to speak. Its content is motivating to my toddler!
Rating: Summary: Required First Book for Baby Review: This was my daughter's first book at 6 months. I still read it to her 7 months later. All that is missing are the sounds that accompany each animal (roars, tweets, meow, ruff, etc.) and that is what Dads and Moms are for anyway. A GREAT book--should be followed by A Very Hungry Caterpillar.
Rating: Summary: great book for infants and toddlers Review: My son received this book as a gift on his second birthday. It's one of his favorite books, and really helped when he was learning his colors. He is even able to read part of the book simply because of the repetitive style. I think it boosts his self confidence and encourages an early interest in reading.
Rating: Summary: Teacher's pic Review: This is a must have for every child under 7! I'm a first grade teacher and my student could all "read" this book in their first week of school. Tip for parents: Have your child point to each word and "read" with you!
