Rating: Summary: OH, How I LOVE this book!!! Review: After a stressful day, I went to the library to check out books for my class of preschoolers. I came across this wonderful book! I felt the tensions of the day just leave after having such a belly laugh while reading this book! I love the storyline, the illustrations, and the overall message! I read it to my ten-year-old and we just couldn't stop laughing! It's absolutely fabulous! I HIGHLY recommend this book!
Rating: Summary: It's Funny Enough Review: I got this for my 5 year old niece. Sure, it has low-brow elements - but so what? Kids to think the topic is funny and like hearing the word 'fart'. My sister rolled her eyes when she got it - but she still chuckles. This is the kind of book uncles get their nephews and nieces. If nothing else - to annoy our siblings.
Rating: Summary: Walter won my heart with his farts Review: Walter is a hero for the ages. The only people I know who have read this book are adults and they all love it. Everyone knows a "Walter". On two legs or four they are out there. Those we love in spite of some nasty habit or quality. The lesson in this book is an honorable one. The "natural" and humorous style of the writing is great. The illustrations are fabulous. Thanks for a swell read.
Rating: Summary: Love Walter! Review: Walter will bring tears of laughter to your eyes the first time you read it. It is very funny and the illustrations are fantastic, very clever, my kids never get tired of this book. I have a 6,4 and a 2 year old and they are all fans of Walter. We wish there were more kids books as funny as Walter.I also highly recommend "Dirty Bertie" and "Frank Was A Monster Who Wanted To Dance".
Rating: Summary: Hilarious!! Review: Man, this book is great!...when we saw this book. It was a blessing for me b/c I really needed a good laugh. Walter comes home with two little kids and he's has an extreme gastrious condition. Yeah, that means he passes gas uncontrollably. His parents plan to take him back to the pound. The night before he goes, the children plead with Walter not to fart any more. Poor Walter tries his best not to fart, but it just seems nearly impossible, especially after he eats a whole box of low fart dog biscuits. ... It is a very touching story with great pictures and the William Kotzwinkle has such a way with words, you'll laugh after reading every page. hey-check out the little yellow spider on every page!!
Rating: Summary: can we read it again, please? Review: No guns, no violence, pure laughter and everything kids love to talk about! This book will be handed around among 12 grandchildren.
Rating: Summary: Silly Low Brow Fun For Children Review: Walter is a dog who farts constantly. His new human family tries everything possible to cure Walter, even going so far as to try giving him low fart dog biscuits. Walter doesn't want to be sent away so he holds his gas in. You'll have to read the book in order to find out just what happens when two burglars break into the house at the exact moment Walter can't hold back anymore. Great fun for all. Preston McClear, author The Boy Under the Bed
Rating: Summary: I needed that... Review: After a stressful beginning to a school year, a fellow teacher brought this book to a workshop. It made our day...maybe our year.
Rating: Summary: Extremely funny Review: I.... You have to LIGHTEN UP A LITTLE. We all need a good laugh every now and then. If you can't laugh at this book then you are lacking a sense of humor. I received this book from an adult friend (co-worker)of mine for my birthday. We all just died laughing reading it. You are talking kindergarten teachers here. Poor Walter, his facial expressions are just precious. The illustrations are wonderful. Thanks for giving us something to laugh about!!
Rating: Summary: Walter is hysterical! Review: As a former teacher, now an instructor at a university, specializing in Deaf education, I loved (LOVE) this book. I was at a bookstore in Maine when I found it. I read it in the store and laughed so hard, I cried. I read the review by the person from Canton, GA; I would strongly disagree with their opinion. I use this book in my classes, as well as storytelling times with kids. My nieces and nephew absolutely adore this book and I have given them their own copy. I would recommend this as a great way to laugh with a kid!
