Rating: Summary: Miracle in writing Review: I have read so many books and novels since I was a child and even great classics and now I am 28 and the Harry Potter series stands out among the top. The stories are so gripping to the imagination and bring so much fun and excitement that once you life the book you can't put it down without finishing it even if it means skipping food or movies or anything if you can . J K Rowling deserves my vote for being one of the best writers of all times.
Rating: Summary: Pure Magic, even for the worst of Muggles Review: I was fifteen when I was given the first three Potter books for Christmas. My aunt bought them for me. I unwrapped them, and my heart sank when I saw kids' books in my lap. I, of course, acted thrilled. I had never heard of the Harry Potter series. They remained on my bookshelf, untouched, for months (collecting dust around my vast Stephen King collection). I think it was in late March or early April when I picked up the Sorcerer's Stone out of sheer boredom and began to read. I finished it the next day. I read the Chamber of Secrets even faster. The Prisoner of Azkaban was finished within a week of the time I opened the first book. Then I read them again. And again. And again. I still remember--I read them NINE times in a row. I waited impatiently for the fourth to be released. It was that very summer, so my wait wasn't long. Being a longer book (and considering I was on vacation), it took me almost a week to finish it, but I read it about four times in a row. I've only just finished the fifth book, and it's as magical as the rest. Don't deny yourself the privilege of reading these. If you've known how to read for more than a week, you owe it to yourself. And don't let the witchcraft stuff scare you if you're religious. I am, too, and it isn't the slightest bit offensive. This is FANTASY, for goodness' sake, not occult textbooks. Give them a try before you decide that they're the work of the devil himself. Read these. You will be spellbound, no matter what your age. I'm eighteen, macho tough-guy and all that. And I love 'em. You will, too.
Rating: Summary: excellent! Review: As a graduate student I have to admit I wasn't sure about how much I would enjoy reading "children's" books. These books are phenomenally written and interesting to kids and adults. I was enthralled and read more in a few days than in most weeks and was very entertained. I highly recommend this series to anyone, especially those like me who were burned out of high fallutin' mumbo jumbo and wanted to be taken into a beautiful magical world of a talented author.
Rating: Summary: Hogwarts is a Great Adventure! Review: I thoroughly enjoyed the first three books (haven't had time to read the fourth yet). I appreciate the length, for one thing, and the effort to really develop characters in each book. J.K. Rowling certainly has a magnificent imagination, and it shows in each chapter. I also think it's wonderful that a story has been published that finally captivates children of all ages and spurs a regrowth in literacy and its importance. Hurrah for Harry Potter!
Rating: Summary: Best book set ever Review: This book set, is the best ever to come out. And best of all, is cheap, but still very good, cause where I live they charge more than $12 for the paperback edition (each book), which I think is to much, but the box set is indeed for people who can not pay to much, but wants to read the Harry Potter books. To tell you the truth I was not interested in the Harry Potter series, but yeah sure, I heard from some of my friends talking about the books and everything, althought I didn't understand it very well since they read it in spanish, but after seeing the second installment of the series, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, I became interested. I bought the box set, and I started reading, and I've notice that the movies are indeed very different to the books. So I kept on reading until the 5th book came out, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Bought it, read it in a couple of day ,and ,love it as much as the four previous books. And now I can't wait till the 6th and 7th book come out.So I recommend these books to anyone that likes or loves to read. P.S. Sorry I didn't give descriptions pr said anything about the story. I don't want to spoil anyones readings.

Rating: Summary: BETER & BETTER Review: These books just get progressively better. I've given them as gifts and recommend them to everyone that reads. Many will dismiss these as children's literature, but there is so much more to them I can't even put it into words. Very rich in characterization and plot. A must read for anyone who loves the genre.
