Rating: Summary: Was thoroughly surprised! I enjoyed them! Review: Naturally, I'm skpetical of books that are mass hits and quickly made into movies. No matter where I went, I couldn't escape Pottermania. After a good year of being hounded by younger siblings and my family, I sat down and read the books, expecting to be bored and insulted.I was wrong. I laughed, I smiled, I grinned like an idiot at the deft wit in the writings. It held up to critical analysis with plot development and internal consistency. Best of all, it was entertaining and a quick read. While Harry Potter is not going to be lumped in with some of the greatest literary masterpieces, it's still a good set of books. And how can anything that gets children to read be bad?
Rating: Summary: Stop comparing these books to The LOTR Review: This is a great series. I know i'll be shot for saying this but the third book was to me a bit of a letdown though still good. The other three are great though. the second I feel is the best one. The story of Harry potter is abou an orphen who fin ds out he's a wizard,so he goes to hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry where he has countless adventure's.The series has great characters and descriptions. A must read
Rating: Summary: While Waiting For Book 5 Review: While waiting for book 5, I read another book that's like a Harry Potter fantasy, except it's taken from real history, not magic and wizardry. It's called "West Point" by author Norman Thomas Remick. Though you don't join Harry Potter, Hermione, and Ron, and pass through the barrier on platform 9-3/4 to board the Hogwarts Express, you do join another Harry and his guardian angel Thomas on their even more fantastic journey through time and history to witness, firsthand, some of the greatest adventures and people of all time. And, do you know why I think this book somehow has its own magic and wizardry? It somehow made me instantly smarter and wiser. Even the Harry Potter books didn't do that. I'm glad my Mom told me to read this book while I'm waiting for book 5. I think everyone else would enjoy this too, like I did. That's what I wanted to tell everyone, in case you don't know about this book.
Rating: Summary: Hooked Review: I began reading these books a couple of weeks after I received them. Since then I haven't been able to put them down! They are amazing. I've gone through 3 of the books in about 2 weeks. I've stayed up sooo late these past few nights trying to find out what happens next. I haven't been this entranced by a book in a very long time and I have read a few. These books are definitely for the young and young at heart.

Rating: Summary: Okay, it took me awhile. Review: I worked at a bookstore. I resisted the Harry Potter series. "After all," I said to myself, "anything that splashes THIS big in popular culture cannot possibly be good." I was smugly pleased with myself, having been the only person I knew who had never read ANY of the "Harry Potter" books. Then book four, "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" was due to be released. The store I worked in was going to open at midnight of the day the book was to be released. I worked that night, and discovered the legion of "Potterites" lined up around the block to get the (then) newest installment of the the Harry Potter legend. . . Before that event, I decided I needed to know what all the fuss was about. So I purchased "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" to see what all the fuss was about. I stayed up all night reading this delightful story. The next day at work, I bought all (then) three books in the series, and didn't sleep for six nights while I read what else had happened to Harry, Ron, Hermione, Hagrid, Professors Dumbledore, Snape, McGonagall, as well as Hagrid, Filch, Uncle Vernon, Aunt Petunia, Cousin Dudley, Fred and George Weasley, Mr. and Mrs. Weasley, Ginny, and the rest of the characters that inhabit Ms. Rowlings fertile imagination. You could say I was "Hooked." The truth to tell, I was addicted! I'm now the world's greatest living "Potterite." I heard of the controversy surrounding the books; that they were "satanic," "evil," "a bad influence." Upon investigation, the people levelling such charges had apparently never read a single book in the series. Poor Harry. He must study his lessons; he must make choices; he must act, not wait to be acted upon. If he has studied, if he has considered alternatives, if he acts for the right reasons, Harry manages to come out all right. When hasty, when impulsive, when foolish or selfish, things don't always come out quite right! Wow. Studiousness, Right motives, Thinking things through: what AWFUL lessons to pass on to impressionable young people. If you love a child, or if you love the child within yourself, buy these wonderful books, and read them over and over and over. You'll remember what is to discover new worlds, and to be enchanted with the power of a great story told by a great storyteller. I'm jealous of all of you who will read these for the first time. . . but once you do; "Welcome to Hogwarts!"
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter: The Best Series Ever Review: I think Harry Potter is absolutely the best series in the world! I do admit that when I first heard about the series it sounded stupid but I was sleeping over at a friend's when she wanted to watch the DVD. I finally said "okay" so I watched it and ever since then I've been hooked. I couldn't put the books down and I still can't! I keep rereading the first 4 books waiting anxiously for the fifth one to come out! I've watched both of the movies millions of times and I think that if you're unsure about the series, borrow the book or check it out at the library and you too will be hooked! In case you don't already know what it's about I'll tell you a jist: It's about this boy named Harry Potter who isn't as normal as you and me. He's a wizard. He makes thing happen with his emotions without realizing it until he's admitted at Hogwarts (his school). He goes through many "tasks" through all 4 books and I can't wait for more to come!
Rating: Summary: 2 good, 2 bad Review: I thought Harry Potter was OK. The first one wasn't so exciting, the second one was pretty exciting, the third one was really, really exciting and the fourth one was good at the beginning, but creepy at the end.
Rating: Summary: What a great collection Review: All books would make a wonderful collection to any adult or kids' library. The books are a medium reading level due to all the characters and the names. Mostly because you are trying to piece the story together about Harry's life as much as he is. You do not need to read the books in order because each books entwines the prior year's information within it. However it will make the story flow a bit easier. Join Harry on his wild adventures. I can't wait for the 5th book and the rest of the movies. Enjoy!
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter off all Charts! Review: The HP series are amazing. They're magical, they're captivating for the young and the old. No matter what age you are, HP's adventures will surely reel you in, and it is guaranteed that the book is impossible to put down. J.K. Rowling is a genius. Admit it, we all read HP. Just buy the set! Don't keep secretly borrowing it from your local library. If you haven't yet read it (where were you this whole time?) READ IT! It's brilliant. I cannot say enough.
