Summary: Mommy of a 2 yr old and a 9 month old
Review: I love reading this book to my babies. They love it. It appears that there are two copies to this book, in one of them the pictures are not as bright. Make sure that you get the one with the very bright pictures. My daughter has memorized most of this book and reads it herself, looking at the pictures. I highly recommend it. We do not read it as a bedtime story or she would never go to bed!

Summary: Great Early Childhood Book!
Review: Goodnight Moon is a wonderful early childhood book about getting ready for bed. The first half of the book simply identifies the different things the baby rabbit sees in his room. The second half has the little rabbit telling everything in his room goodnight, from the moon, to his comb and brush. On the last page, he says goodnight to the noises everywhere.
This book is perfect for very young children because it relates with something they do everyday. Brown has done a great job in using simple vocabulary, which rhymes, to interest the child. While the illustrations in color are a little cluttered, those in black and white are very simple and easy for the reader to recognize. The book itself is smaller than most books, and is made more durable by using cardboard instead of regular paper.
Overall, this books serves as a perfect early child book. It is a great, realistic story with fun pictures and easy text. This book would be perfect for use with any young child.

Summary: My son loves this book!
Review: I wasn't especially impressed by the book (sacriledge, I know, based upon reading the other reviews), but from the first time we read it to our 2 year old son, he loved it! He wants us to "read it again!" over and over! So, that overrides my verdict--5 stars!

Summary: Bedtime Essential
Review: My 22-month-old daughter's favorite book. We've been reading it to her at bedtime since she was one. She now asks us to "Read Moon!" every night and is learning to read with us.

Summary: A genuine classic!
Review: I have a friend who has recently become an elementary school teacher and is teaching kindergarten. She talked me into coming in to read to her class--any book(s)I wanted to bring with me.

My reading gig is coming up this week so this past weekend I asked my 16 year old daughter to go through her old children's books (she has 50-60 of her old favorites still on a bookshelf in her room) and she emerged with 2 or three books for the kid's but also with Goodnight Moon--which she wanted me to read to her.

As Miss Zoe was growing up we'd read every night and Zoe (my daughter) got to choose what we read. She'd usually pick 2 to 3 books and, for years and years, Goodnight Moon was always one of them.

The book itself is somewhat inexplicable--mostly it's just a silly little poem, really--but for my kids it really struck a chord. All I know is that if your sixteen year old daughter wants to curl up on the couch and have you read one of her childhood books to her, that's quite a book.

I always give this to friends when they have a first baby, and I have always found that a few years later they are still telling me it is their kid's favorite book.

So don't try to figure it out, just buy it and read it to your kids. It'll be a treasure you share for years.

Summary: A great bedtime book
Review: Every baby should have this book! It's got the rhythm and repetition that babies love. It is a great way to say Good Night to the day and move on to bedtime. It helped me create a very nice bedtime routine (...). What's best about this book is that I enjoy reading to my baby every night. Very pleasant!

Summary: How could you not love it
Review: I started reading this book to my daughter before she was born. Now at nine months, it is the only book she will sit still for. It is a classic with simple text and beautiful illustrations. I know that we will be reading for years to come and I will not get tired of it.

Summary: A great book for kids!
Review: My son LOVES this book, and it's one of his (and my) bedtime favorites. It's a good, low-key book that's perfect for bedtime. I read it in a soft voice, and as we go through it, I ask him to point out the different things the story talks about. He likes to read it during the day, too. Just a fun book!

Summary: a well deserved reputation
Review: Notwithstanding the story is very simple, this book deserves its reputation as a classic for toddlers. My daughter loves it and despite a wide range of other options after more than year she still takes it. The beautiful pictures and the every day life objects in it are comforting. If you don't have it, buy it. Now! A last advice: take the larger boardbook, it's impressing.

Summary: No wonder its still a favorite
Review: As the mom of a toddler, I loved the Goodnight Moon board book. Before he was ready for paper pages, Goodnight Moon was our favorite book. The colorful pictures of everyday objects and peaceful rhyming words have made it a family favorite.
