Rating: Summary: The Very Hungry Caterpillar Review: I rate this a five, because this book teaches children many things. It teaches them about colors and numbers. I think that any child could read this book, because it is never to early to learn about numbers and colrs. It is ver good for children to read also. The short story was kind of boring.
Rating: Summary: A Classic Review: I remember this book from when I was a little person and was all too happy to get this in board book form as a gift for my 14 month old daughter (I am a big fan of books and have been buying them for my daughter since she was a few weeks old :) ). She enjoys the colors and turning back the pages to build the caterpillar's diet on its way to becoming a butterfly. It's truly a 'must have' in any child's library.
Rating: Summary: 'The Very Hungry Little Caterpillar" Review: This was a book about a little caterpillar that was just born and he was very hungry, and ate alot. he eventually got very big, he then built himself a cacoon. Two weeks later he nibbeled his way out, and was a beautiful butterfly.I dont think that this book really teaches a lesson, it is just a cute book for little kids. I would recommend this book for children between the ages of 5-7. I think this is a vey good book.
Rating: Summary: A sweet and engaging little book Review: This is a sweet little story about a caterpillar who becomes a "beautiful butterfly." My 16-month-old daughters got this book around their first birthday and love it. It really holds their interest which is very much not the case for many longer books. The artwork is simple, yet fascinating to young children (and their parents as well). Little fingers poke at the holes in the food and my girls love the shorter pages because they're easy for them to turn. The pictures and story help babies and toddlers learn to identify simple objects (moon, sun, leaf, caterpillar, butterfly, etc). We read this book along with several others every night as part of our bedtime routine, but this is the only book I have yet to get tired of even though I have long since memorized it. It's also the only book that holds my daughters' attention almost every single time. It's a great addition to any baby or toddler library.
Rating: Summary: LOVE IT!!! Review: I ABSOLUTLY ADORE THIS BOOK!!! IT IS SOOOOOO GOOD! I RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO ABSOLUTLY EVERYONE I MEET BECAUSE IT IS SO GOOD! (PEOPLE DO LOOK AT ME STRANGLY WHEN I STOP THEM ON THE STREET AND TELL THEM TO READ THIS BOOK THOUGH.) YOU'LL LOVE IT! RUN; DON'T WALK, TO THE NEAREST STORE TO GET THIS RIGHT NOW!!!
Rating: Summary: A beautiful book with dry humor Review: Love this book and recommend it for its gorgeous illutrations and enjoyable story. Eric Carle has written many books with the "very _____[insert animal here]" formula for their titles. I am waiting for "The Very Neurotic Chicken" and "The Very Nauseated Hamster". But seriously, his books are classics.
Rating: Summary: readers beware Review: A five star book, in terms of child enjoyment. In fact, your toddler will enjoy it so much he'll pester you every night to have it read again. Since I'm reading, I wish it were a little more clever and less repetitive. Still, a guaranteed favorite for your little Timothy.
Rating: Summary: We love this book- Review: We are raising butterflies and this was a great book to read while you are watching the larve. The children really enjoy this and the pictures are great!!
Rating: Summary: Craving More Review: Beginning as an egg, the little caterpillar soon begins his forage for food. As the caterpillar searches for food and tries to satisfy his hunger, Carle combines the days of the week and counting so that little ones are learning as they follow the hungry caterpillar. On Monday, he ate through one apple - and there is a hole in the apple! On Tuesday, he ate through two pears - and there are holes in each of the two pears...and so on and so forth. Finally, after continuously eating various foods throughout the entire week, the little catepillar has a stomach ache and eats through a leaf and feels better. Then he spins his little cocoon and becomes a beautiful butterfly. The colors are bright and add to the beauty of both the caterpillar and the butterfly. The wording is very short and simple so little ones aren't distracted or bored. A wonderful addition to any library.
Rating: Summary: Hungry Review: My 3 yr old daughter loves this book & so will your child!
