Rating: 5 stars
Summary: An excellent book for young children and their parents.
Review: As a speech therapist working with young children, I have used this book to help develop pre-literacy skills. The predictable words, rhymes and rhythm are fun as well as educational.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: From one generation to the next
Review: I remember this book vividly from my childhood visits to the library and just absolutely had to get it for my 8 month old son. We read it together often. Now at ten months he fingers the holes as I read him the story. The different-sized pages make it easy for him to turn the pages. I often catch him wandering back to look at this book out of his entire book collection.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: It is a very funny book
Review: The Hungry Caterpillar is always very funny and very greedy. In the end he becomes a butterfly, but before that he becomes really fat. The photos in the book are very beautiful. It is a good book, but not the amongst my favourites. Varun (Age 5)

Summary: READ and ACT
Review: I loved it the first time I heard my daughter said pickle (picol)...The best part is the page where it became a beautiful butterfly, my daughter would open and close the book op top of her head as if it we're really flying.

Summary: A caterpillar's search for food captivates children
Review: Children love the brightly colored pictures and repetitive phrases in this book. They especially like the holes where the caterpillar has eaten through the book! All my child's playmates enjoy this story and ask for it again and again.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Book very suitable for toddlers
Review: A caterpillar does not feel satisfied until he eats and eats! Then he feels sick, eats a leaf and then feels much better. Finally, he turns into a beautiful caterpillar. This is very simple reading. The author takes us throught a whole week of eating. There are holes made by the caterpillar to show what he has eaten. Illustrations on every page. This book includes big and bright colorful drawings. Also, the different sizees of some pages made it even more interesting.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: GREAT for beginners to read!
Review: This book and others by this author are some of my sons' favorite books. Don't tell them I told you they are both in college now. Super pictures of items that the caterpillar eats.

Review: This book teaches children how to count, among other things.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Good from pre-school through learning to read.
Review: This book has been a favorite with my son from the time he was 3 years old. He is now 6 and enjoys reading this colorful book to me and anyone else who will listen! Counting the fruits is a favorite!!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Book size
Review: Make sure when you are ordering that you know the size of the book. The edition of The Very Hungry Caterpillar that is less than $5 is very small (about 3"x5"). You will get a surprise when it arrives if you don't pay attention--I sure did! It's still a great book!
