Rating: Summary: Christina's Courage: An excellent book! Review: "Christina's Courage" is a well written book about a girl who dares to dream. This masterpiece describes the fears and daring events of a young girl who is dealing with a green horse. I highly recommend this book to avid horse-lovers
Rating: Summary: I am an eventer... Review: But I can see that the series is going to the dogs! Where is Sammy? When did she go to Ireland? Cindy, where's Cindy? Did she marry Max? I think #30 should be a stable reunion. Where IS glory? Fleet Street? Mr. Wonderful? Champion? Why is Shining at Whitebrook away from Sammy? HONOR? My favorite Honor Bright...where?
Rating: Summary: DO I HAVE TO FIND OTHER BOOKS? Review: CINDY, I WANT CINDY, MAX, SAMMY, TOR, MANDY, HEATHER, AHSLEIGH'S BABY, HONOR, CHAMPION, GOLRY, etc. WHAT HAPPENED HERE?ALL MY FAVORITS ARE GONE. I want to be a Jocky and these books helped me, now they are about JUMPING? Give me a break
Rating: Summary: What happened to this series? Review: Ever since this new autho rtook over, things keep getting left out of the story. Glory suddenly stopped racing and we knew nothing of it. It was mentioned briefly in passing. The babies were born all of the sudden. No big deal, right? Things jump around and people disappear! Joanna Campbell needs to start writing again or the current author should read the older books and find out why we, the readers are so upset!
Rating: Summary: Although they're new, they're still good!! Review: Everyone seems to be angry that the old people were kinda left out. They are still there, but they're not the stars anymore. I like the older books alot, but I like the new ones with Christina and Sterling, Melanie and Pirate, Kevin and Jasper, Dylan and Dakota, Katie and Seebreeze, etc. They're still well written, suspenceful, and about HORSES!! I give them a thumbs-up even if they're not just like the other ones!
Rating: Summary: IS THERE NO END? Review: Hey people, I'm no doctor, but this series should be condemned. I started this series when I was little, and even though I'm probably too old to read these books now, I still love to reread the older ones. (#1-about#20) Everything fell apart after Cindy and her generation disappeared. Christina would have been alright, if she had not been made the center of attention. Any good series writer knows that the reason to write a series is to follow the main characters through their lives. Sammy and Wonder's Pride were my favorite characters, along with Ashleigh and Wonder. Anybody who has read the whole series would know that Sammy would never leave Whitebrook, Pride, Shining, or the love of her life Tor! And what's in Ireland for her ANYWAYS!? Was it my imagination or did Ashleigh have a 2nd child? Ashleigh was the reason the series was started, you can't just get rid of the main characters. Get Joanna or stop altogether! The original plot has been lost and too many mistakes have been made. READERS: do not stop reading the originals so you'll never forget the real story! Ashleigh is only a mother now, she has no real feeling about other people or horses. Racing and the love of horses were the the backbone. Without them there is no series. The original characters are ( supposed to be) in their 20s & 30s now, but so what. The kids of the 90s are not stupid! If this doesn't change, I'll never buy another Thoroughbred book again! Bring back Ashleigh, Mike, Sammantha, Tor, Mandy, Cindy, Heather, Max, Yvonna, Maureen, Clay Townsend, all their special horses, and EVEN Brad and Lavina. P.S.: Sorry this has happened to your series, Joanna!
Rating: Summary: We need Joanna Campbell back Review: I agree with everyone else. Where are the old characters and horses. Go back to Joanna Campbell.
Rating: Summary: I think this is awful. Review: I can't beleive that all of you are getting so angry. It's not like it is the end of the world. Maybe the end of the series, but end of the world? Get real. Don't take me wrong, I'm mad too but what we need is a plan of action. I think we should send all of our awful reveiws to this new "author". Maybe if she is smart enough she can still save the series so it does not turn into something gay like the Saddle Club. If you think like me please wright to me at angiethoreson@hotmail.com. Maybe we can save the series before it is too late.
Rating: Summary: This series is starting to --- Review: I can't believe what is happening to my favorite series of books. I am too old to read them now really but I still do anyway. I started reading them a long time ago but now to-- . What happened to Pride and Wonder and Ashleigh and Sammy and Tor and Max and Cindy and everyone else? The series was a lot better with the first generation of people. And with horse racing instead of jumping. END
Rating: Summary: These books rock!!! Review: I don't get it why some people say these books rot. They're great! I love the eventing ones just as much as the racing ones, maybe even more because in the racing ones the horses were winning all the time. I know the old characters should still be here but give the new characters a chance! So far they're proving to be better than the old ones! But in #34 I don't know if they're talking about Wonder's Pride or Pride's Chance. On the cover of this book Christina and Sterling really look like a team. For all those people that say Christina is a brat, she was a bit bratty in this one, and in the beginning of #25 when she gets really mad at Melanie. I like the new authors, but I thought that Alice Leonhardt's 'Riding Academy' series was good. Allison Estes is a good author, too. When the Thoroughbred series was devoted to racing, I liked it better when Joanna Campbell wrote them. But the only thing is, is when they didn' consult Ms. Campbell before changing the series to eventing. Please, everyone, give this series a chance! It'll turn out great! I collect these books by the bagfull, I swear I do!
