Review: This book was about two boys named Jimmy and Seth. They grew up close to each other and both had the love for the game of baseball. Both of their dreams were to become major league players in the game but Seth was struggling just to make the varsity team so i do not know how he is going to accomplish the goal of becoming a major league player. They would both practice with each other at the park near by so when it came time for the games the plays they made together were amazing. Besides the relationship they had together they were actually quite different. Jimmy was willing to do almost anything since he started drinking and doing other things while Seth was more on the mature side. The team they had played on did very well and moved on to the championship. On the day of the championship there was a terrible tradgedy that occured. Jimmy had gotten into a car accident and died. The game still went on and the team won the game for Jimmy since he was a big influence considering he had great skill. The book mainly ended after Seth told the team the Jimmy had a " Heart of a Chamption". Overall I think this was a great book and showed you how in your everyday life you make decisions all the time without even knowing it. One of these decisions may even cost you your life...

Review: This book was really interesting to read and this book had alot of detail. This book was about 2 boys who were friends and they both liked adn played baseball. Their names were Jimmy and Seth. Seth was struggeling to be good to make the varsity team amd Jimmy looks to becoming a major league star. While they are friends and both played baseball they had a lot of problems like Jimmy starts drinking or Jimmy goes out of town and Seth was alone and all kinds of different problems. After the problems they were friends again. In baseball game they do double plays and they are becoming better and better baseball players. Their team got to go to the playoffs and then to hte finals. On the last game which was diciting who is the champion Jimmy got in the car accident and died. Seth could not beleive what happened and that tommorow is the final game and Jimmy wont play. Seth tolled his teammated and the coach that we have to win this game for Jimmy because Jimmy wanted to win this game, so they did 1-0. Then Seth tolled his teammates that Jimmy had hearth of a champion.

Review: This is a good book for teenagers ranging from 14-17. The level of interest is very good, if you are into baseball. The themes in this book are about death, forgiveness, and moving on. This is a story about Seth Barstow, a boy whose father, a golfer, dies at a young age. One day when he goes to the baseball field to throw around a baseball, he meets Jimmy Winter, a boy of Seth's same age. Seth and Jimmy become inseperable, practicing baseball every chance that they had. The relationship continues until Jimmy's father, an alcoholic, moves out of the house, Jimmy moves away, and Seth and Jimmy get involved in drinking. Seth manages to quit so he can stay on the team but Jimmy just can't seem to stop. To find out what happens at the end of the book you have to read it. This was a very good book and I rate it four stars because some of the baseball terminology was kind of difficult to understand. This was a great ook and i recommend it to teenagers who enjoy baseball.

Review: This story is an excellant compelling novel of a boy, his best friend, the love of baseball, and the tragady that hit him the hardest. Seth meets Jimmy Winter, a baseball lover, and soon Seth develops the trait himself. Soon they are playing on the varsity teams together. When Jimmy begings drinking, Seth fears that Jimmy will ruin it for himself and the team. I recommend this for ages 12+. An excellent compelling novel, very suitible for ages recommended

Review: This story was amazing. I really enjoyed this book, and there was always something happening. Carl Dueker did an amazing job at always keeping action in this story. I usually trail off the subject and then never finish the book, but this one was so interesting that I never got off track. I would recommend to any person that asked me to read this book.

Summary: One of the Greatest books I have read
Review: This was a great book. it wasn't just about baseball, it was about teens dealing with peer preasure and teenage problems. the problems that seth and jimmy had, affected the way they played on the ball diamond, but together they got through it. this was one of those books where you just can't get enough, and it is hard to put down. i read this in one sitting, and was excited the whole way through. if you like reading about baseball, then this is a book for you, and you like a fairly easy read, you will enjoy this book. if you enjoy reading this book, then i siggest you read the rest of Karl Deukers books, which include on the devils court, painting the black, and one other.

Review: TO:Seth baseball is the most important thing in the world, until his best friend gets caught up in drinking. In Heart of a Champion, Seth learns a valuable lesson. It mostly takes place on a baseball field but there are other places too. Not only does Seth learn a valuable lesson but his best friend Jimmy learns one two. The book by Carl Deuker called Heart of a Champion is a very good book.
